Dura-C - Two weeks later and still going strong
I purchased my first e-cigarette, the Janty Dura-C, two weeks ago, and I have to say I've been very pleased. I've seen pros and cons to Janty, but mine has worked great. I'm still using the original atomizer and it still looks like new and works great. The only concern is battery life, 4 hours tops based on how much I use it. I really like the control button, though it took a little getting used to. I also like the fact there is no LED.
I've also been pleased with communication with Janty.
Because of the battery issues, I ordered a second starter kit earlier this week and received it yesterday. The second kit was about the same price as an extra atomizer, battery and charger and the starter had two atomizers, two batteries, the charger, and five cartridges.
So far, including enough e-liquid to last me six weeks, i've spent about $200. In my neck of the woods, NC, I was spending almost $40 a week on cigarettes, so I figure I'll be at the break even point in about two weeks and still have a week's worth of e-liquid left. At that point, I'll start saving about $30 a week. By the end of the year, that will be over $1000, including the cost of replacing batteries and the such.
And the best part is, I enjoy it so much more than smoking cigarettes.
That's just my two cents from a newbee. Thanks to everyone for all the great tips and reviews.

First I would like to welcome both kcfoy and toki smoki to ECF.
I thought I should post an update also. After running a 4 hole atomizer (Modified from a standard two with a rotary tool) for over a month I can say that it does make the atomizer last longer and it does not affect the performance at all. I strongly suggest that Janty and other 510 sellers request that Joye change their atomizer design to a 4 hole as this will cut down on atomizer returns and complaints.
As for the battery I have no complaints. It is my primary device and I use it daily without any issue. However the last atomizer I received from Janty was a disappointment. It had It was very apparent that it was a factory second at best. Its wick cage and coil cup sat sideways in the tube and was so bad that I had to repair it before I could even think about using it. I didn’t bother to complain to Jeff because it was the last one I got before my warranty expired so it is not marked and I can’t return it. I just hope that this is not the beginning of a trend in low quality control. I guess I will see when I get my next atomizer.

I've been vaping straight for the last 6 hours heh heh (with 3 batteries)
yeah i think the airflow sensor in the auto batteries don't quite send the full current through that the direct switch does.
I made a usb direct pass through and it is consistent like the switch with slightly better vaping than the auto battery. but I prefer the auto battery so I can puff on it while i hold it in my mouth with my teeth. (doing it now as i type this heh heh)

So after an (unenjoyable) return to cigarettes, the rising prices got me to buy a duro-c. I gotta say this thing is awesome! It's only been 2 days, but it easily beats my old 901. Sounds like I'll hit problems with the atomizer soon enough, does anyone know where I can pick up the 4 hole atomizers that have been mentioned to work better?
Also does anyone have experience using non-Janty liquid with the duro? I still have some leftover juice I got for my 901 from puresmoker, but the duro booklet says non-Janty liquid can damage the atomizer. This sounds like a dubious ploy to force Janty purchases, but I'm a little weary to gamble with what sounds like an already short-life atomizer. Should I just shell out for the Janty liquid or is my old stuff good?
For anyone on the fence like I was about the USB passthrough, JUST GET IT....it's so great to be able to use indefinitely while you're at the comp, and I used to get so sick of using my 901 at home and then when it's time to leave having that feeling that your battery is at like 10% life. Passthrough great if you use the comp a lot and/or have a desk job and your coworkers dont freak out about it

Been using non-Janty liquid in my Dura-C with absolutely no problem...

I made my own. I do not think that they make 4 hole anymore. Here is a link to the mod thread for it.

Modding my PCC
I just got my Dura-C and am totally loving it. The PCC i got along with it didnt accept the batts without depressing the button. All i did was undo the 2 tiny side screws and it opens easily to reveal a simple plastic housing. I held the battery up to it to mark how far down the button needed to travel when fully inserted. I took a portable grinder with a 1/8" wide cutting wheel and carefully cut a slot down to that mark and widened it to about 3/16" to allow the button some wiggle room. Using an razor knife i cleaned up the inside of the slot and voila... works great. This was so easy i don't know why they didnt design it like this in the first place.
Be careful not to cut too far down as you will hit the spring loaded charging plate (or whatever you call it) inside the tube.

I've had my Joye-510C for around a month now. Oddly, though, both of my atomizers were 4 hole. I got mine from dietsmokes.com.
I had one battery act up a little on the second charge (blinked 20 times and refused to work for a bit), but after charging again, I haven't had any problems with it since.
I get around 3-4 hours per charge, depending on how often I vape. If I vape incessantly, it can be 2 hours, but that hasn't been common. With 3 batteries, it's fine for me at work, and I always have one on charge at home.
I've also only used one of the two atomizers so far -- and after 1 month, it's still vaping fine. I wonder if dietsmokes.com gets them somewhere else?
My only real complaint with the 510 is that you have to always carry liquid with you -- they drain the carts so fast and taste (and smell, according to my wife) like utter ****** if they get even a little low. So long as you keep it topped up though, it's a really great cig.
Also, I notice the PCC is listed on Janty's site as supporting the manual batteries now. I just ordered one.

Outstanding vapor for a mini. Big kudos to the engineers of the 510 for the atomizer and cart design. Not always a "hitter", though. Also, I wish the batteries lasted longer between charges. Still, one of my favorite devices, and it's superior to the M401 IMO.
