I honestly don't think I even need the nicotine anymore. If Drew would just get off his butt and make me the Octane Mochaccino in 0mg I'd switch to that in a heartbeat! For me, it's more the habit, feel and taste than anything else. I'm already down to just 10mg. I have to badger Drew some more to make me some 0mg or learn to make it myself!

It's ludicrous to compare nicotine use to even alcohol, let alone other harmful drugs.

It's striking to me, that after a few weeks of lowered nicotine, my body's adjusted to it and it has the same effect now as it did previously at the higher level.

I'm thinking if you really want to kill yourself, rock climbing or riding a motorcycle should both suffice.

    But it might take awhile.

I'm at 6mg now... in another few weeks I'll likely drop to 4mg.

LOL...that would probably make it worse...I have a tendency to flutter around like a butterfly with a ZPE powered laser on its belly...and occasionally becoming so focused people worry it's going to rip holes in the fabric of the universe...or is it that you have been covering MY tracks...

no really I can barely follow me so how should I expect anyone else to...

Finally...no sleep for a few days.....its finally cooling off so I am going to take a breather...wish I had CBs pond now...not that I swim much but water is a great way to cool off...

You know, another good thing about e-cigarettes is that if I decided to quit vaping tomorrow and my husband didn't, his vaping wouldn't trigger me the way it did when we smoked and I quit but he didn't. First of all, my triggers are no longer valid - it's kind of a consistant thing rather than at set intervals. Second, his vapor smells different than mine (when I can actually smell it) and usually I can't even smell it. With smoking, smelling another smokers smoke always triggered a craving.

The other day we took a long walk with the little one and our boxer. My hubby brought his e-cig and I didn't. We were gone a couple of hours and even though I saw him puff on his a few times, I didn't have a "nic fit" like I used to when we were smoking. I didn't even run for my e-cig when we got home.

I guess that is another reason why I don't feel like a slave to my e-cig.

I like these stories-its like yeah you can vape or whatever but also can choose not to-thats interesting & weird. By weird it seems like you'd do it like you did cigs but most of you say no its not that way-in a way its like why bother?

The only trigger I get from being around a smoker now is to get out of range as quickly as possible!

Agreed...anything burning leaves a horrible taste in my mouth whether I breathe in much or not...

and to make a point...I said this earlier and removed it as It seemed I was the only one answering a comment that went away...

Most of my eliquids I make are no nic...I have some for when I wake up or get over stressed and thats anywhere from 16-24mg/ml but it is not my all day vape...my all day vape is 0 nic...why...1) because I still vape like I smoked...like a freight train...2) the nic affects the flavor and I am constantly working out new flavors to try...

Why bother eating sweets? Why bother drinking soda or coffee (no nutritional value at all?) Why bother having a hobby? Why bother posting on internet forums?

    Because we like it!

ETA: You know, sitting here vaping I realized that if I wasn't using my e-cig I would probably be eating something that wasn't good for me or biting my cuticles or nails. Vaping keeps me from doing something else that I wouldn't want to be doing because I wouldn't like the results of those behaviors. (So I know I definitely have a hand-to-mouth thing.)

My mom is morbidly obese. She has an eating disorder tied to depression. She has struggled with her weight all my life, even on anti-depressants. She had tried everything short of stomach staples to lose weight and always put it back on. I'm not exactly skinny (could lose about 40 lbs) but I know I'd probably have to lose 150lbs (like my mom) if I didn't smoke (now vape.) My family has a history of eating disorders, alcoholism and drug abuse - which I think all stems from a genetic chemical depression that my grandparents, aunts and uncles on my mom's side self-medicating. Ironically, very few of them smoked. I smoked, but didn't end up morbidly obese, alcoholic or a drug abuser. Being "addicted" to e-cigarettes just pales in comparision to what COULD have been for me. The cigarettes could have killed me, but the the vaping won't - and it keeps me from other distructive behavior. I can't see the bad in that.
