I was in Egypt recently and local cigs were 40p equivalent/pack Fake Cinese M'boro were the same but genuine x2 the price. You could easily tell by the packaging and smoking them they did taste "off" could give you stomach ache. I started on e-cigs when the duty - frees ran out. Won't (I hope) be going back.
E-cigs are made in China on expensive production lines and, by definition, can't be fake. Juice is another matter and it does vary, you have to find some you like.

    Lots.

Locally at home, dodgy cigs used to be even more widespread. Two or three years ago I could go around to my friends and ask his neighbors to get me some cigs or I could sit in a pub beer garden and someone would come over selling cartons. You could pick them up on the building sites too.

There are only two places left in my town which I know for certain sell dodgy cigs.

The car boot on Sunday. Up to 10-15 east europeans stand at the rear entrance of the local car boot selling various brands.

One of the £1 shops in town sells tobacco and cigarettes from the back store. These are brands I've never heard of. They taste of wood shavings and smell and burn terrible.
