I actually find this really weird. I quit (cold turkey) 13 days ago. I know that doesn't make me an expert or even mean that I'll follow through.

Today, two of my friends started discussing the concept of ecigs, and one had seen one on the news last night... I got really, really excited for them. Sure, I quit my way, but that's not the way for everybody and I understand that.

So, as of tonight, the two had ordered (individually) a RN4081 and a 510. I couldn't be happier for them, and they both seem optimistic about getting off cigarettes for the first time ever.

And as for me, this is great, too. I found myself missing the social aspect of smoking with my friends more than anything as time goes on. I expect my M401 and 0 nic vanilla/almond juice any day.

It's not about how you quit, is all I'm getting at. It's about doing it the way you need to.

First off, Hello everyone!! First time on this Forum

I have tried to quit analogs cold with no success, and I have though about quitting even more. I hate them and how they have me by the balls.. I am fully addicted, and enjoy the feeling of smoke in my throat.

After a ton of researching, and saving $ (Laid-off).. I finally ordered a JOYE 510 starter- kit this morning from Healthcabin.net The lady I was dealing with (Amy) was very helpful. I feel good about the experience, and think this is the right choice for me because of its size, and from what I hear the vapor production is quite thick, which I will definitely need.

I hope this is what I need to get away from those dirty cancer sticks. I am ready, just need some help with it. I really like how everyone is so supportive here. I really think I'm on the right track!!

Let those suckers complain. Complaining got me nowhere so far. I hope to be the next smoke free member. Cant wait for my PV !!

I hope so, too: Good luck! I'm a total noob also, and hate to give you advice with so many old-timers around, but here's my 2 cents:

Get some high-nicotine juice, just in case. You don't know what you need, yet. I almost gave up before I realized that all of my frustration with my vaporizer boiled down to me trying to get more out of it than it was designed to give (I'm surprised I didn't suck the battery through the atomizer)! My wife had the same experience. She smoked "light" cigarettes, so went for "medium" (12 mg.) nicotine. Wrong! Turns out the 24 mg. juice that I was using is what works better for her. I need about 36 mg., and yes, that is a REDONKULOUS amount of nicotine, but that's what works for me.

All I have to say thank gosh for PV and my 510!!!!! I started smoking when i was 16 started out as a weekend thing while sneaking into bars and hanging out at clubs ( look old for my age) I became a "social smoker" as time went on and in my mid 20's while working which added extra stress on me noticed i started smoking a pack a week. So I made a change and quit cold turkey last december changed my eating habits and started working out, I went from 262 to currently at 215. But then i was suffering from the pains of gallbladder attacks which would last 5 hours( its like a knife in your abs and someone keeps turning it!!!!) Till one day it got so bad I couldnt even tolerate it anymore and went to the hospital. I smoked 3 "lights" that day even thought they tasted bad it helped me call down after the surgrey and the whole time while i was in the hospital all I could think about other than the pain i was in was smoking again to relax me after I got out I was "googling" for an alternative and found out about the e cigarette/PV and was like Oh snap!!! so i ordered from different companies to see which one was good and it has helped with the cravings I have been studying PV's and doing my research for about 2 months on it on the topic, heck i even made e juice in front of my mother and she was shocked like WOW I made non nic e juice and had her try each component of reduced pg e juice just to show her whats in it after educating myself on the topic and trying it for one month theres no way in hell I will touch another analog for the rest of my life. Now Im trying to convert my brothers to PV's cause there smoking habit is WAY worse then mine knowing what ive learned online no one can tell me PV's can be fatal or just as bad as analogs, If the F D A say they are they might as well stop the sales of vegetable glycerin, distilled water, Propylene gycol and artificial food flavoring in everyday products and foods!!! But oh wait, They are all approved by them! Ive read about lab test done for 2 years on rats exposed to nicotine twice the level of a heavy smoker for 20 hours a day for 5 day out of the week and what they found was nothing, just a lose in weight. Also studies done to chimps exposed to propylene glycol for 2 months with no effects what so ever if it was so bad for you why do they use it in fog machines in the clubs that they can breath in and why do they use it on cattle. theres no way I can be convinced this is bad for you I am of good blood pressure 117/74 and my cholesterol is below 80 so I am far from clogging my arteries and raising my blood pressure to bad levels, the nic calms me down and helps with my epilepsy which is stress related so to me I have found the holy grail! keep my nic levels low and keep my social night life alive while trying to help others as well. Sorry if this was too long

Being a smoker for 40 years I truly thought that cigs would always be part of my life. I had never heard of an e-cig until a client of mine pulled one out of his pocket and took a drag. I was dumbfounded. He explained what it was and after finding this forum and reading for the next 2 weeks, I ordered a Joye 501 and an Evo.

They arrived in a week or so, I opened the box, put my pack of cigs in the back of the cupboard and haven't even thought of smoking one. I'm only 5 days into vaping but I know that it's already saved my life.

I could have never given up cigarettes with the e-cig. I give all the credit in the world to those who quit cold turkey but for me, I know that was never going to be an option.

As Each day goes by, I still can't believe I'm not smoking an analog. Mabye one day, I won't need an e-cig of any kind but I highly doubt it. It's way too much fun!

Yeah, ex-smokers are not too crazy about people smoking PVs and being proud of it.

I admit, I didn't quit an addiction. I did however quit doing something very unhealthy.

Oh well. To each their own...

Hey thanks man. I did go with a relatively strong dose at 24mg, but I am used to full flavor Canadian Analogs so I may have to go with a 36mg dose. Thanks for sharing your experience. I will have mine in a few days so I will know more then.. The wait is killing me.. Puffing analogs in the meantime, so I mean that literally

Great to hear that after 40 years you are off the death sticks. Go E-Cigs!!
