Damn Associative Learning
I have been off the regular cigarettes for almost 5 months but tonight I sat down to run some stats which I haven't done since I quit. This was one of the activities that I used to sit and chain smoke while doing and tonight I had the strongest craving I have had in months. Its amazing. Mornings, meals, driving, talking on the phone all broken habits but sit down with SPSS for a few hours and I was about ready to grab the 4 month old victory half pack of camels sitting on my shelf. Pavlov can lick me.

Dont give in just like you had to get used to driving, eating, talking on the phone, you have to get used to this behavor too, maybe a new venue (differnt room, different chair new table IDK) the point is that your muscle memories are telling you TIME TO SMOKE, change the scenery change the behavior, DEATH TO PAVLOV, POPOV on the other hand

Ah it was no problem. Much easier to survive than the first big outdoor BBQ I went to when everyone was smoking around the fire. It just amazed me that after so many months that urge could still pop up in such a random situation. Popov probably would have fixed everything.

Hehe. Just recently started using a PV and I often find myself reaching for a cig. Whats funny, is this happens as I'm vaping.

It took me longer to stop reaching for a lighter than it did to stop reaching for a cig. I got in the habit of grabbing the e-cig quickly, but I would also reach for a lighter. I found myself glancing at the lighters the other day in line at the grocery store and thought "That's a cool one, I should pick up one of those," until I remembered I don't need them any more. The good thing was it gave me one more opportunity to pat myself on the back for dropping the analogs

SPSS can do that to you, but at least it doesn't "SAS" you. (Statistician joke).
