Smoking Cessation Support Group I called
Reading the local paper (Macomb Daily) this morning in Warren, MI I noticed a small announcement at the bottom of page 3A. It was about a free smoking-cessation support group that meets from 6-7PM at the Beaumont Hospital in Troy on 9/14, 10/5, 11/2 and 12/7 in the Cardiac Rehabilitation conference room on the ground floor near the west entrance. Yes, I'm just retyping what they have in the announcement. It says they will discuss behavior modification, stress management and holistic therapies for nicotine addiction. The last one just gets me, them being a hospital (light some incense, the craving will go away). For more info call so and so at (248) 964-8521. So I did. I asked if electronic cigarettes would be mentioned as a cessation method to the answering machine. I also explained to it that I was a 2 pack a day for 30+ year smoker that stopped June 25 when I got my first electronic cigarette and that I was also a member of the "Zipper Club" (open heart 5/3/90) and left my name and number. I wonder if anyone is going to call me back?

Ooooh awesome! Let us know how it turns out! If there were anything like that around here, I would go and see what they would say about my PV. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled!

heh, heh, heh!
I wonder if I just threw a monkey wrench into someone's life? I am hoping that I get a call back, though. In my last job, I gave weekly technology seminars to the public. Now, I don't, still like public speaking, but I got pretty good at defeating the slight phobia. If they ask, I will speak on behalf of the Vapers as another alternative in stopping smoking.

Great idea. Maybe if you have the extra time, and they let you do it, you will go down there to the meeting?

Just go the meeting and whip out your PV and start using it. By the time you're done explaining it, half the group will probably want one.

Wrong answer!
Now go sit in the hallway for your quiet time.

Did you read?
Did you read the post about the guy from the forum here that decided to announce PV's to a forum of people who were quitting smoking. He was politely told to go home. I'm not going where I'm not invited! It'd be like bringing "near beer" to an AA meeting!

Cmon, I just got out of the hallway from my last "quiet time". [shrugs, turns around, and sulks while walking back to hallway]
