    Question Quitting the Ecig

I do love the way nicotine feels. I am just so upset. I told my parents and they are upset. That's what upsets me. Is there a way to get off of them? I was thinking of getting 0nic to help ween me off. I went down a bad road. My own fault.

Were you a smoker prior to ecigs?

If its upsetting you that much, then bite the bullet and just quit. I've tried to ween myself and my wife by lowering the nic, didn't work for us, just vaped more.

If I may ask, what was their reason for being upset? Your post makes e-cigs sound like ...... or something. This is not a bad road....

If you weren't a smoker prior to ecigs than I can see a small point of their frustration, but it is still much better than smoking analog cigs. Did you max out your credit card on e-cig supplies or something? If that is the case then it's not the e-cigs fault, it's your own. Personal Responsibility.

edit: I'm only 19 so I can relate to the whole parental approval thing. My mother didn't even know I have been smoking since age 13 but I explained to her how my habit began, etc etc. She was very skeptical about the e-cig and thought I had just started dumping things into my body because other people said it was safe. I informed her that I spent countless hours doing tons of research before I decided to take the route to e-cigs. I told her everything about them and more, showed her tons of web pages and studies about pure nicotine and the e-cig.

At the end of the day, she still seemed a tiny bit skeptical (thanks FDA) but I did all I could. She doesn't finance me at all, I pay my own rent in my own apartment, I pay for my classes, and I pay my car payment, so even if she disagreed I could still vape at no cost, but it is important for me (as I'm sure it is to you) to have parental approval over anything, even if they have no control over it.

I would need more details on your situation to give you any further advice, but I am willing to help any way I can.

I see by your other posts that you where not a smoker. Why would you even use one of these? These are an alternative to smoking for those that are already addicted to nicotine. I would stop now before you become to addicted. Trust me, you don't want that. I smoked for 13 years and this is the only way I could stop and I still haven't gotten rid of the nic addiction.

Well my first post looks like a waste, rats.

Anyway, if you weren't a cig smoker prior to your e-cig experience than I'd have to question your choice in even beginning to vape. Please explain.

I am 27. I am indeed a non smoker. I've been wanting to smoke all of my life. My sister and brother smoked at one point in their life. They don't smoke anymore tho. I think that is the reason I want too. I know I made a bad choice. I am going to be going to 0nic. Give the nic a rest. I've only been vaping for 3 days. I am already experiencing the withdrawal.

The reason I want to quit is cause, I respect my parents greatly. I do not want to upset them in anyway. So yeah. No more nicotine for me. No matter how good it feels. I feel stupid.

I did however have a real cig here or there. It made me feel ill. This ecig does not. I would feel much better, and so would my heart! I had open heart surgery no less. When I was born that is.

Well I'm glad you are deciding to stop the nic. You don't want to become dependant on it. Good luck to you!

you should read and discuss this with your personal doctor:

"....a powerful puff of nicotine starts a neurochemical chain-reaction that increases breathing rate, accelerates heat rate, constricts blood vessels, elevates blood pressure, causes the liver to release stored cholesterol into the blood stream, the adrenal gland to release glucocorticoids, the thyroid to release metabolism hormones, the hypothalamus to release corticotropin-releasing hormones, a decrease of progesterone levels in females and testosterone in males, digestive tract shut-down, a glucose release into the bloodstream followed by a boost in insulin to metabolize it, pupil dilation, and your blood to thicken. Inside those highly constricted and over-pressurized blood vessels, carbon monoxide eats away at their teflon like lining (endothelium) while nicotine amazingly vascularizes fat buildups causing arteries to harden. More smokers die from circulatory disease each year than from lung cancer ....."

You need to quit nicotine - not should, need. Make your momma happy

    Hope this helps.
