I smoked for 45 years and quit totally the same day I started vaping. My wife had smoked for 34 years. She stopped analogs the same day as I did, when we received our first kits. Kept no analogs anywhere and we haven't even been tempted. Oh yeh, I smoked about two packs a day and she smoked a pack to pack and a half a day.

2 puffs off an analog June 24th and none since. I officially quit the day I got my 510 in the mail (21st) but I took two "test puffs" three days later and about tossed my cookies on the balcony.

Not sure how many months that makes me (I've quit keeping count) I just know I've quit for good. On a side note, I've downed my mix from 36mg to 24mg and haven't noted any problems at all. I'll try 18mg in a couple weeks and see how it goes.

I quit two days after I got my first PV, and really I was just finishing off my last half of a pack of smokes. I didn't want to waste them. I think I could have quit the first day, easily.

Dear 'ole Mum (40+ year smoking) and I (25+ year off/on smoker) quit on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 10:30 AM.

There are no signs of us ever returning to analog cigs.

And we feel proud, liberated, free and quite happy!

    Good luck to all,

    Dan

I quit smoking analogs on Aug. 12, 2009 using the Greensmoke e-cig but have since upgraded to a Joye510 which came in the mail today! The only thing I don't like is that I have gained 10 lbs since then. I was smoking a pack of Marlboro Menthol Lights a day. I also still need my nicotine, I get crabby without it.

    Long answer:

I was down to about 4 cigs a day with my e-cig, then I got the passthrough in the mail and stopped smoking that day. The passthrough allows you to vape at the computer, the TV, and in the car without fiddling with the batteries. Over the course of the last 18 or so days of quitting I did smoke about 5.5 analogs which were left in the last pack I had. They tasted real bad compared to the lovely flavors in the e-cigs. I have really gotten into making my own flavors. I mostly like VG, and only use PG if it is in a pre-mixed flavor that I have around.

As far as I am concerned, I am quit. Been trying for about 8 years now, so that is an accomplishment. Now if I start lowering the nic levels I could eventually get down to zero nic, and then decide whether to keep vaping or not.

I love the fact that I can vape anywhere, doesn't smell up the house or clothes, doesn't upset many people, and doesn't turn my teeth brown.

Right now I am vaping an "off" flavor I made that is not quite ready for prime time. It is champagne, pear, peach, and cinnamon. Pretty good, but I've had better.

I hope your husband will try it. If he doesn't like the tobacco flavors right off, cappuccino, is real good and surprisingly like tobacco in many ways. And I always add tobacco to the peach, my favorite.

So the short answer to your question is: YES.

Pretty much the same thing here. It's a bit difficult to throw your analogues away when you know you've spent good $$ on them...

Yes, I quit cigarettes on November 8, 2008 and have not had one since. As a matter of fact, X-rays showed "mild emphysema" for the past 10+ years. I had to have abdominal surgery in August, so the anesthesiologists required a chest x-ray prior to surgery. NO EMPHYSEMA was detected on the chest X-ray!!!! My regular doctor said that doesn't mean e-cigs healed emphysema, lol. She said it had diminished enough from November 2008 to August 2009 from not smoking that is no longer perceptible. I am thrilled that 1) no more smoking and 2) no perceptible emphysema.

Great reading all the comments on this thread!

This is good to hear Because your Dr said:

"that doesn't mean e-cigs healed emphysema, lol. She said it had diminished enough from November 2008 to August 2009 from not smoking"

So your Dr agrees that Vaping is NOT SMOKING....
