For those of you who have a favorite juice that is unfriendly to tanks and you can't afford a Phiniac, I think I found a cheap alternative. A new tank vendor is offering pyrex tanks for $13 and $15 (4ml and 7ml). These are dirt cheap! I got two 7ml tanks a couple of days ago and did a review of them here: Valley View Tanks 7ml Pyrex Tank Review

Not saying they are the quality of a Phiniac, but we're talking about 1/4 the price of a Phiniac, and these Triple V tanks do what they were meant to do. Hold my juice, don't leak my juice, don't fall off my mod.

Here they are on my SB and BB

i dont know if someone has said this, but KBV hummingbird nectar and cinnamint do not crack tanks. other cinnamons and honeysuckle falvors do, but KBV ones do not, i have tested this and had both of them refilled in a poly carbonate tank fro over a month

    Any juice that has:
    Sour flavors
    Malic acid
    Citrus acid
Cinnamon like "atomic cinnamon" types, not warm cinnamon like cinnamon coffe cake, this is okay

    Any wintergreen juice or flavoring
    TPA ripe banana flavoring
    TPA honeysuckle flavoring
    TPA maraschino cherry flavoring
    TPA cherry blossom flavoring
    Mrs. T's strawberry shortcake
    KBV Hummingbird nectar

    UPDATE

My aim is to compile a list of juice and flavorings that may cause problems as far as cracking polycarbonate tanks. Anything listed here may cause your polycarbonate tank to crack. I am primarily focused on the polycarbonate tanks, although this info may apply to other tanks.

Polypropylene is my personal choice for tank tubing because it it inexpensive and durable. This is the same material that is used to make syringes. Polypropylene tubing can be purchased here: McMaster-Carr. You can use 5/8"id x 3/4od for Liquinator tanks, Lil mama tanks, Big daddy tanks, Jtanks, and others. This tubing has a very slight curve to it, but will not be noticeable when cut to a short length. You can see a pic of a tank I made using this tubing with Liquinator endcaps here: Here's a pic of my polypropylene tank

The popular DCTanks can now be found made from polypropylene tubing, and they come in 8 colors. Polypropylene will not crack from a chemical reaction from using juices on this list. For some reason, vendors are not stating the fact that these are made from polypropylene. IMO this is an excellent selling point that they are missing... These tanks can be used with some XL cartos, or they can be easily cut down to fit a standard sized carto, my personal preference, since I have a few dozen tanks, and I can't afford the pricier ones.

Glass tanks are also a great alternative.

I am personally not familiar with the Vision Stardust type tanks. From what I hear, they are polycarbonate and folks seem to be having the same issues with cracking/frosting.

Also, bear in mind that different vendors may use different ingredients to make the same flavors. So, a flavored e juice you get from one vendor that is safe for yout tank may not be safe from another vendor, or vice versa. For instance, I have no trouble at all with VaporGod strawberry kiwi, but Mrs. T's strawberry shortcake will probably crack a polycarbonate tank. Also, just because a certain juice may crack my polycarbonate tank, it may not crack yours. I don't know why... Clear as mud, huh?

Some of these are premixed juices, some are flavorings that DIY'ers use. Contributions have been made by myself and other members. So far we have:

Here is the list so far. Everything listed here has caused someone a problem with a polycarbonate tank. Some have reported no issues whatsoever with some of these juices/flavorings. Use at your own risk with polycarbonate tanks.

With so many folks using tanks nowadays, let's all contribute here!!

Disclaimer: These are not "bad" juices. They just have the potential to cause cracking in tank systems using polycarbonate tubing.

I will be putting this list into categories soon. Thanks to ECF Veteran member Stosh for alphabetizing it for me.

I have been using Smoktech's tanks for four months. I have Green Apple and Carmel Candy in one for many many refills. No tank damage at all. Same with Millenium Milkshake which contains both TPA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and TPA Pineapple flavoring. I use FlavourArt's Tiramisu in them, no tank damage at all from it. I bought nearly all of them in March at once. I usually have 4 or so sitting with juice in them at all times. I have no idea what the tank material is but it's crystal clear. I have no damage to the caps or the o rings at all.

I should probably add that I'm a variable voltage vaper. I use these on Provaris and kicked Silver Bullets with dual coil 1.5 cartos at around 4.2 to 4.4 on the Provari and the kick is set to about 5.5 so the vape is warm.

If it's crystal clear, it's polycarbonate. I happy for you that you haven't had any problems. I don't understand the rhyme or reason, but someone has reported problems with everything listed. Some have problems with their tanks, some don't. Maybe it has to do with percentages, I dunno. It's really just a "heads up" that these juices/flavoring can cause problems...

Understood. I'm just wondering what's different about the Smoktech tanks. Most of my TPA and LorAnn's is a 30% flavor, the FlavourArt is low as it's much more concentrated, on the order of 5% and their Espresso is at 8%. Looking for a common denominator and not finding one.....

Nothing from Pink Spot on the list. Is it that nobody vapes their juice here, or none of those have been reported as problematic?

Also, has anyone played with the clear tank addons from Kir Fanis? He makes clear sections for rebuildables like the Ody and DID's. Was looking into getting a clear window with my DID. Wondering if anyone has used these and had reaction issues with their juice.

^Also wondering about one Pinkspot juice in particular (Cinnamon). I have about 18ml of Cinnamon from Pinkspot that I want to put in the tank, but afraid of cracking! Any experiences?

Btw, one of my friends put Fire & Ice e-juice into his tank and so far no cracks, but it is quite cloudy now.

Very helpful thread. I guess I'm going to have to pay more attention to the juices I put in my clearos. Need to add EC Blend Grape to the list. Ruined a brand new long wick stardust.

I think you should add Triacetin to that list. Anything that contains Triacetin is a plasticizer and Cherry Blossom is one of those, there are a few more, but I can't think of them off the top of my head:

The triacetin is applied to the filter as a plasticizer.[4]

The next statement is taken from the wiki about plasticizers, which may or may not include triacetin, but who knows really?

Substantial concerns have been expressed over the safety of some plasticizers, especially because they have been classified as endocrine disruptors.

Here's the source, although I don't think most people would care to read such a long pdf since it's kind of implied already:
