Mine are all woodworking tools, not so much metal fabrication.....

But.... I've got some ideas I'm just waiting for a battery to die so I have some parts to make a universal 510 adapter

    Hey Jeff,

Would this do even half as good a work?

    http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=93799

I mean, would it be decent for making mods?

Those mini lathes are not really up to par. I have one, it is extremely limited and not really built to high enough tolerances to be worth anything at all especially if you want to fabricate small intricate pieces, its out right dangerous on those things. If you go into the $1500.00 range you could get something worth while or look into getting a used one.

Use very light cuts. Those lathes have no rigidity.

Exactly right Hangtime, It would take you hrs to make a small part that should take 10 mins and yet the tolerances are still not tight enough even when making light cuts.

That's a bummer about the inaccurate cuts....probably have to mic everything out, i'd guess?

    Thank you Cisco,

Maybe I should just go learn how to use one first and then I will know better what I need/want, plus I will be ready to use it when I buy it.

Keep those tools rolling Jeff, love to see what comes out.

Whats with shiny smooth metals that we all like so much anyway?
