I never felt that it was "punishment", to me smoking inside seems unreasonable. I vape inside, of course, but I still go outside, especially in the evenings, even if its cold. It was one of my favorite rituals of smoking.

Ditto. I loved standing outside smoking on a beautiful fall or winters night. Looking forward to vaping that way too.
I love vaping outside in the summer time but anything under 40 and my .... is staying inside! LOL

Oh I bet that's nice! I always wanted to live in a more warmer climate haha. I live smack dab in the middle of the US so it gets pretty chilly here come fall and winter
One of the worst things for me as a smoker was having to go outside when it was cold. Much prefer to be too hot than too cold. Maybe that's why I moved to Texas.

I'd been going outside to smoke for so long it's just natural. I enjoy it too. Very rarely would I smoke indoors even in my own home. Now it's transferred over to vaping. Along the same lines, I also vape in my car and still crack open the window to blow out the vapor. Some habits just ain't gonna change.

I still go outside too, though not as often as when I smoked. Like others, it's a part of smoking I very much enjoyed and still do with vaping. Especially those cool, crisp morning/nights with a light breeze rolling through.
i only go outside when its with others who smoke, or at a public place where i dont know/dont ask the policy.
back in the smoking days it just depended on the situation whether it was punishment or pleasure. I never smoked in my house/apt or in any home unless the homeowner smoked inside as well. stinky houses suck. I loved being able to smoke in bars for a few years until all the laws changed (ohio 2008, I was only 22! ) however some of my fondest memories were "taking constitutionals" with friends, or sitting outside on a chilly evening at hip places that had tables and heaters and whatnot, enjoying a beer or coffee with good conversation and a smoke

Smoking outside is the only reason I ever miss smoking. I never smoked in my house (it's disgusting) and I'm in the habit now of vaping inside but I miss going outside to get my nic fix. :{ I'll make note of this and start stepping outside to vape..

I lived in Ohio 2008, OMG no smoking in bars, no smoking on public sidewalks, parking lots, etc etc etc had to move!!

I'm the same. Still enjoy going outside with friends while they smoke at bars and I vape away. You get some very interesting drunk conversations about ecig at times. 
I hate having to go out side! When its cold or rainy especially in the morning or at night before bed.
