Not trying to be a battery snob, but there are far better batteries than Efests to buy. Even if your Efest is authentic, it only has 6.5 amps continuous discharge.

For 18350 size, the AW IMR 800mah 12 amp battery is tops. It has almost twice the amps of your Efest. You can find them at RTD Vapor.

Hey dude, yeah I purchased some 18650 AW batteries a few days ago but just made this post because I didn't know whether to throw them out (recycle) them or not.

Quick question! Is it okay to charge batteries when they drop to 3.1?

No need to throw them out (the Efests), but you'll likely be disappointed in their performance.

That's about the low limit that I'd accept (3.1 volts). Try not to let them drain past 3.4 volts. Anything 2.5 volts or lower will likely end up being a dead battery.

Would it be a push to charge a 20A 18650 AW at 2.8?

Well supposedly that's what is supposed to be going on, but I know in the past fest has been busted wrapping junk cells and even seconds.

Several now have exploded through the years, and true imr batteries just don't do that.

There was a post here just a few weeks ago where one blew up in a mod after being shorted.

As in recent cases with 18650's efest has released several cells with next to impossible outputs. Higher even then any of the known brands we can't get 35 amp cells anymore, yet they claim to have produced a 38 amp cell.
I don't feel safe trusting a company so willing to make dubious claims to increase sales.

On the other hand several times I have come across info speculating that AW actually underrates cells and that's what makes them seem superior.
If I take a 2500 man 25 amp cell and tell you its 2100 at 20 amps you'll swear its the best 20 amp battery ever with really good runtime. So in that respect, trick marketing can work both ways
