Can someone please tell me what can go wrong with the base of the Vivi Nova
when the coil in perfect.
Normally I can check the resistance of the head unattached and also when
attached to the base section, getting the same resistance reading each time.
Now I have been using a head with a reading of 2.4 ohms (unattached)
but on screwing it into the base get no reading. This must surely mean a short in the base.
I flushed out the entire unit and let dry but still dead, no reading possible.

You haven't said if you are useing pre-made wick/coils or making your own.

If you are making your own check the wires that sticks out on the bottom at the screw contection make sure that it's not shorting out. You could have not cut the wire close enough.

The wires that sticks out on the bottom at the screw connection do not actually stick out. Cut them flush with nail clippers.
Anyway, the fact that I'm getting an acceptable resistance reading must surely mean the head is OK, no short?

The post in the centre of the VV is 'floating'. Push it in or out and it'll make contact with the head properly. You have to get it just right. If you push it in too far, it won't contact the positive terminal on your battery, too far out and it won't contact the atomizer head.

Sorry, but I'm confused. As far as I am aware, the post is fixed solid to the base and the head simply screws into the post.
