Kanger and Kanger-like coils, what's the difference

When looking at various glassomizers and Kanger-like tank replacement coils. Besides the obvious; ohm, chimney length and (barring the newer dual coils heads), what is the difference in these coils? When looking at FT for example one glassomizer will list coil x,y,z yet another will state coil a,b,c all of them look the same, is there really any difference in the size of these coils? I have lost track of which is which and use who knows what on my tanks, am I doing anything wrong?

I have noticed the length of the silicone ring on the bottom is longer and near impossible to use on some of the knock off's.

Please elaborate, the ring on the very bottom or the cap over the chimney?
