Kanger subtank mini - 0.5ohm reading at 0.9

hey peoples,

just picked up a kanger sub mini for my istick 30w. as soon as I screwed it onto my istick with the 0.5ohm OCC that came with it (no juice in it yet) it was reading 1.1ohm. I tightened everything down and it's reading 0.9. I put on the 1.2ohm and it's reading 1.6.

would this indicate a problem with the tank and/or atomizer connections? or should I start vaping and it will adjust down hopefully?

sounds like the iStick is reading .4 off. Start low with power and work your way up with the wattage/voltage. I vape my 1.2 at around 18 to 20 w.

but so far looks like you have an extra 0.4 ohms coming from somewhere

When you take the base off and remove the coil, there is that pin that sticks up to touch the bottom of the coil head. Clean both points of contact off whether it is condensation or e liquid. That caused mine to start jumping ohms on me.

alright, it settled to 0.6 I just used my shirt to clean both contact points (base of the tank and the pin on the istick). once I started vaping it dropped down.

this kanger sub is alright tons of vapor at 25w. gotta get used to the wide open setting though, drew too hard and got some spitting. slow and steady is the method

First step would be to put the tank on an external ohmmeter. If that reads similarly high then a problem somewhere in the tank/coil/510. If the outboard ohmmeter reads 0.5R then suspect the iStick's 510 connection. In that case a second tank with a known coil resistance might shed some light on it. It is also possible that the iStick ohmmeter is off.

thanks I have no external ohmmeter (yet, will invest in one if I go the RBA route).

I know the istick is known to be off a bit, so 0.6 is probably fine. the kanger vapes pretty hot at 25w with the 0.5.
