Ok so right now I have been building duel coils using 26 gauge kanthal. But i want to try and build a single parallel coil.

So my question is how does the ohms go for parallel coils? Is the the same as duel coil or different. At 8 wraps on an 1/8 inch screw driver it reads 1.2 ohms so .6 ohms for a duel coil. Would a single parallel coil of 8 wraps 26 gauge kanthal on an 1/8 screw driver be .6 too?

8 wraps with parallel wires would give you 16 total wouldn't it?

It would be 16 individual strands yes, but when counting wraps it's still 8.

AaDavis, every parallel I've built came out the same as a dual coil. Close enough anyways to not have me over thinking it. If I want a .18-.20 ohm dual parallel setup I input for a .70 in Steam Engine for a single coil. .70 divided by half, then divided by half again.
