Possible rust in my cotton?

I pulled out the cotton from my rda and it appears to be redish-brown where it was in contact with the coils. I don't use any juice with dark colors, mostly just pure vg and lightly colored diy juice I make without any nicotine. Not sure what this could be coming from but it's not the post because no cotton is in contact with them. I'm currently using a twisted 28 guage macrocoil on my derringer RDA.

It is a little more red in person, the picture does not do it justice.

what is different Other than the results about that wick and others. The juice, power levels ect.. Is there more or less sugars some compound darken when heated. Scorched cotton can look reddish

Sure it possible, you got wet, you got organic, you got heat and you got air. You got all the ingredients of life for bacteria and baddies of all sorts.. Don't they taste good when you VAPORIZE them.
