Vamo v5 loose top cap

I've seen a lot of posts about the threading issue that some vamos have, but I haven't been able to find anything about this, and was hoping someone had some suggestions.

The top cap on my v5 is loose. The threading is good, everything works, so the connections are all there, but the cap itself is loose. It frequently pops up a little, and if I'm not careful will pop off completely. Every couple of hits I need to push it back down. Is there a way to fix this, other than replacing it? I'm not so great at soldering, so reconnecting the wires scares me a bit (read: a lot).

I actually went back to where I got it, and they said it was a manufacturer's defect and gave me a new one. I'm glad I didn't attempt banging it back in...lol. I'm not the gentlest when it comes to hammers
