Dental tools work
I have dental tools from my days as a Dental Assistant.
The tool that is called an "exployer" works well to pull the core up and out or even fluff it up. Anyway, it can replace the paper clip and other things you might be using. If you don't get the real thing you can get a plastic set from the tooth brush section at most stores.

Hey there,
The dental tools work to get the polly core out of the cart so you can clean the core or just pull it up. Some people us a paper clip that is stretch out to try to pull out a core.
Oh by the way...try vinegar to clean with.

The dental tools do work great! These tools can also be purchased at fairs/flea markets/gun shows and where jewlery making supplies are sold. Also the plastic cases for 38 or 357 caliber bullets make excellent cart storage cases.... They are very handy for filling the carts also....

I'll have to look into the case thing. Thanks for the info on that.
