Battery cleaning

I have a 401 batt only a few days old. I may have got a little juice in it but not much. I pulled it all out I think.
With a thin strip of toilet paper I roll it up tight and stick it in the hole in the batt. Got a little wet but less then a drop of juice.

When I blow on it it lights up. But with an aty and cart on it only comes on like 20% of the time. Not sure what else I can do to it. Should I really drop a little water in it and pull it back out? That seems like a bad idea?

I almost sent it back under warranty but then it works i think its going to be fine and it stops.
