I've heard TBob mention that he uses flavouring that has alcohol in it and was just wondering if anyone who does this could tell me if there is a flavour with the alcohol?

I don't drink because I don't like the taste but I'm having a lot of trouble getting alcohol and oil free food flavourings in the UK. If alcohol is ok to vape then it'll be a lot easier but if it has a taste I won't enjoy it.

Is alcohol ok for the atomiser? Does anyone know, I wonder if it makes the atomiser burn clean but maybe it contributes to overheating.

Kate, I have in the past used extracts that are water-alcohol based. Mostly I use Bickford flavors now, PG-based. But I often add alcohol to thin them for a better viscosity. It's just a theory at this point that alcohol won't damage the atomizer and might help keep it cleaner. Alcohol burns very clean, after all. It's also a small part of some commercial liquids.

Atomizers do die. Do we ever know why? I don't think I'm hastening their deaths, but, like most here, I've had atomizers just stop working.

Way to go, Jamie!

Hi Kate
I was told by a UK supplier. But not one of the members on this forum. That if you want to become drunk very quickly put neat alcohol in the atomiser and within 10 minutes you'll be out of your head. But they also said that it doesn't last too long on whether that's true I do not know.
But whether this is safe or true don't quote me on this.

Hi TBob, thanks for that. Can you taste alcohol in your mix when you use it? I guess the alcohol might evaporate when heated and leave no taste.

That's funny Ned, I don't want to get drunk! Probably there's so little alcohol in an ecig mix made from flavouring and glycerine that it wouldn't have any effect. From what I can remember alcohol evaporates when you cook it with food and leaves just the flavour of the ingredients rather than an alcohol taste. This might happen with vapour too.

From experience, I'd say that's true. There are ways to vaporize alcohol and get a fast high, but our devices aren't one of those ways! I do get the Kahlua liquor flavor, but not the alcohol buzz. And that is exactly what I'm after. I want a good taste, and aftertaste. Commercial e-liquids almost all have a wimpy flavor, as far as I'm concerned.

For health reasons, I consume exactly one jigger of alcohol each day. No more, no less. It's tasty medicine. Good for my heart and circulation.

yep, there is no way to get a buzz from alcohol, even if you put only pure 90-100 deg alcohol in the cart.
First of all I'm not sure that pure alcohol wouldn't ignite, I wouldn't try.

A normal european beer has 5% alcohol x 500 ml = 25 ml pure alcohol in a bottle. If you fill a cart (1ml) with pure alcohol is like drinking 20 ml of normal beer. I think not even a new born can get drunk from 20 ml of beer.
If you inhale at once 1 ml of pure alcohol, you might get a short buzz BUT 1 ml would need a lot of puffs from your e-cigarette so again no buzz for ya

In a normal cart there is about 5% alcohol, from what I read. That's 5% from 1ml = 0.05 ml, equivalent with you drinking 1 ml of beer...

Kahlua is 20% alcohol. If you put 50% of the cart Kahlua (which is a lot for an e-liq) -> 20% x 50% x 1 ml = 0.1 ml - equivalent to 2 ml of beer.

so, I think, that supplier had no idea what he was talking about.

Has anyone tried the LorAnn candy flavours from Barryfarm? I've just ordered some.
