Here is another Idea I am experimenting with tonight...I have taken a TEA BAG! cut it in half...to remove the tea......rolled up 'one' half inserted the 'tube' into my penstyle cartridge, trimmed the length and filled it with juice ....it took a suprising amount of juice to fill it but none of it poured out if I held it upside down or laid on its side.....and this is actually working quite well so far......the thing with the paper towel is that it does end up getting a bit mushy if you keep on drip refilling it....but the tea bag is made of hemp as far as I know and should last for quite a few refills. At the moment this seems possibly even better than the paper towel!

Mine had a huge burnt spot near the atomizer; and I mean black and charred. Not sure what the cart material is in that location, but it seems different from the rest, more cotton like than polyester, but I can't say for sure what the material is. I went out yesterday to investigate more possible materials. One thing I looked at was a roll of gauze. Not sure about it though, it's 70% Polyester and 30% Rayon. The one thing we do know is that it's sterile, and additive free. Just not sure what properties Rayon has vs Polyester with regards to melting and what not. I do think a mesh material is the way to go, and I'm thinking even a mesh wrapped wire similar to the Vapor King cart, because that gives you access to the juice at the top of the filler material; the juice that never seems to make it to the atomizer.

I know it sounds a bit daft ...but Believe it or not my rolled up half a teabag (without the tea) in my penstyle cart is working surprisingly well. The hemp paper seems to be rather good for wicking and doesn't go mushy.

Thanks surbitonPete for the paper towel idea. I was refilling with polyester fibre from walmart and was unhappy with loose threads everywhere. I have been using a paper towel now as per your directions in this thread. My Njoy pen style is working great. I am actually getting a better vapor hit also. I am able to add a lot of e juice and it is not leaking. Once again thanks for the great idea.

For what it's worth, I've been replacing the original material with natural wool batting that is used in comforters and blankets. I'm told it has no polyester andis 100% natural. I'm not a quilter or even a sewer so I have to take the word of the gal at the fabric store, but it sure seems to work good for me. It seems to have the same properties as polyester, and it seems to hold the fluid exactly the same. In fact, while vapoing, I can't tell the difference.

Hey if you can get a hold of some tea bags cut one in half get rid of the tea and do the same thing with the hemp paper it works even better I have lipton tea bags. I will experiment with one. I have to say that i am really liking the paper towel right now. I didnt know they used hemp for tea bags. Interesting. |

Pete, aren't tea bags made of either the same or very similar material as paper coffee filters? If so, we could also try those. |
