Cart Mod for better refilling

I have a 510, the atty still hisses when I turn it on but the bridge is broken in half so im not sure if I can still use this ( im sorry im relatively new to this 3 weeks) I will admit I did a coke wash about 2 days ago, maybe it ate the bridge?

Nah, coke's not strong enough. I've left them in coke for days. And the straw is in a corner, not the middle, right? Did you drop your 510 or anything? I dunno. Seems like it's straw length, or not related to the straw at all.

The straw needs to stand even with or above the polyfill for this to be effective, otherwise it's pointless.

that's not totally true. Like I said, I've had good results with having the tip of the straw just BARELY covered with a thin layer of the fill....if it's thin enough, it's not too hard for the air bubbles to push through

What's the point of covering it all then? It only increases the chances of the mod failing to work properly. It wouldn't serve any purpose.

I put the straw back in but cut it to 3/4 of the cart and it seems to be ok now

Because this was the first time I'd tried it, and I cut it too short

I'm not saying intentionally cover it, just saying if it turns out that way it's still 10x better than no straw at all. I was just pointing out that slightly covered doesn't equal "pointless", maybe just not as effective. Next carts i mod like this I'll be cutting the straw longer to compare

I just thought of something what about using a piece of one of those valves that u use to fill a soccer ball with

I haven't read this entire thread... so excuse me if this gets debated past page 8! But cutting down the soccer ball filler worked great for me. I looked at the coffee stirrer and thought it was too big. Looked at the tube that came off of my can of WD40 and thought it was too small. Looked at the guts of my BIC pen.. thought it was too big too. Then I saw that soccer ball filler (metal) sitting on the bench and went "hhhmmmmm....".

Using this in a 901 cart on my 510. I'm pretty pleased right now.
