What's your favorite cartridge filler? in E-Cigarette Technical; Lipton pyramid teabags. They last a LONG time as they are nylon mesh, wick well and don't melt... Dickie...

DrSarcasmo, how do you stuff them in the cart? Do you fold them?

Yes, Tamiflu. I use the teabag to make tea. You can do this and still use the bag, as its made of nylon, so it is still fine after using it for its intended purpose.

I then clear the tea out of the bag, rinse and dry, squash flat, pull apart at the seams. You will then have 1 long piece of mesh, about 2" x 1"
Cut it in half, making 2 1" x 1" pieces. Take 1 and roll it thin and kind of tight. then fold in half so you have a folded tube with the fold at the bottom and 2 rolled ends on top.

Place it in the cart and trim the rolled ends so that they are JUST under the lip of the cart. Fill cart with juice, and vape on! After a day or 2 you can take the roll out with tweezers and run it under hot water to clear out any dried or sticky juice. Dry with a tisse and place it back in your cart. They seem to last a LONG time...

Hi, it's my first posting. But, I had an idea after reading this thread. I had an idea to use an all-natural material-like wool or hemp, so I conducted a google and came up with this idea. Sounds like the perfect filling material and I priced it at about $10 shipped for an 18" x 45" swath, which would last a long time. It is called Warm and Safe quilt batting, which is naturally flame retardant. Made from eucalyptus fiber. The fiber has a high silica content making the fire retardant properties built in from the start. Warm & Safe will not melt, flow or emit toxic gases when exposed to heat and flame. Since Warm & Safe's fire retardant is inherent, it is non-toxic, non allergenic and chemical free. I am sure you could pull it apart to the perfect density. This being said, I haven't even attempted to put new filling in, since I haven't had my ecig all that long.

I've been using the polyfill material, with straw method. It works very good for me... excellent results.

I use a DSE-901 cartridge in my SD.

    Default Poly batting

The only thing I've tried is poly batting from Joann's Fabric. Got a lifetime supply for $6.
It seems to work very well. Re-stuffing a cart is pretty simple and it sure works wonders freshening up the vaping.
I tried a few different ways to stuff the carts for my DSE901 and found a method that works better than the "stock" packing.
I cut the batting to twice the length I need, roll it into a loose rope then fold it in half. Before I insert the batting into the cart I place 5 drops of fluid in the empty cart then insert the new batting. Now comes a few more drops of fluid. I then draw the new batting out almost all the way from the cart (with bent- nosed tweezers, not a paper clip) and insert a coffee stirrer down the side of the cart (a mod from opusMorian here on the forum). The capacity of the cart is greatly improved and the throat hit is awesome. Really increases the amount of vapor and the cart lasts a long time.

I use the fluval stuff. I'm not artistically inclined but it was easy to figure out how to use.
Basically cut it the width of the cartridge roll or fold loosely. Stuffs in easily and you are off and running.
I don't notice any chemical taste.

    aha - now next question
how many drops does it take to top off when you need to do that ?

i found that with my 510 - after the first few top offs that take about 5 drops - then after that i have to top off much more often and each top off only takes about 2 or 3 drops - it seems that it is not wicking up very much of the juice before it acts like it needs topping again - so i am having to top it off quite often

now with the 901 - i can vape for a long time and so far after 3 or 4 days - it still takes 7 or 8 drops each time i top it off - so the 901 is wicking up much more juice between top offs

i thought the 510 was the best - because of all the good reveiws etc but i have to say that i like the 901 better now - just because it vapes more consistently for a longer time between top offs
