3 new 801 attys from dietsmokes, all arrived today alive and well and damn sure full of whatever they prime em' with at the factory. Congealed sweatygymsocktoejam is my guess. Is there anyway to quickly, efficiently get rid of that gawdawful factory primer other than the ultrasonichighvoltageboilingacidcokacolasuanabath method? From what I've read so far, most of ya'll say tough it out, this too shall pass. But I just had to ask if there were any favoured routines anyone uses until the taste is gone. |

I don't have any tips as I just drip like crazy until it is gone. I like your description though-very apt. NB |

I don't know, haven't tried this yet. But makes sense as long as the primer is water-soluable or at least *moveable*. The only atty I've had so far didn't have much primer on it, but it didn't seem too sticky. Might give it a shot unless someone tells me I'm crazy. | |

Wrap your lips around the back end of the atty. Blow as much of that crap out as you can. Dip with your brand or flavor of choice...and the Fromundercheese extract flavor should be really subtle. Flavors or menthol work best.

Someone, somewhere, said to boil them for one minute, then blow, dry and prime, but I don't recall who.

Well I found using the citric acid bath I created for cleaning attys, which did not work btw, works pretty good on removing icky primer. I soaked it for a few hours, then rinsed with the hottest water out of my tap and let dry. Got rid of most of it. But then it could've been the hot water too, who knows. All I know is that's nasty stuff and 1 of them gave me a headache trying to burn it off. If it's bad, I bathe them first.

So in order to get new attys to behave the collective wisdom at this point seems to be; blow the he44 out of em', boil em', and then dip em'. Wish I'd known this when my kids were new... ![]() I'll see if I can coax the little beauties out of hiding so they can get their 'treatment' |

I've been using Efferdent (the stuff used to clean dentures) for the "routine" cleaning. I assume it would work for the primer stuff as well. I soak overnight, then rinse thoroughly with hot water, dry and add a drop of juice. This has worked well for my 901 and my Dura-C atomizers. |
