| Thanks MNZ, Very helpful info! Have you tried substituting the polyester guts with anything else? |

| No one has come up with anything better that we can easily obtain. You can buy the E-Cig polyester -- that could slowly kill you -- at any pet store, in the aquarium section. It's used to filter fish water. One bag for about $2 is enough to last 100 smokers a lifetime. Ruyan says it uses a silcone core material. That would be fireproof, unlike the fires we've created and videotaped of E-Cig's cartridges burning. That is definitely better than polyester. I wouldn't use anything else that's been suggested: steel wool, rope, natural fibers. You're asking for unknown trouble on all fronts -- atomizer and lungs. As you read this forum, you'll find references to "burn" tests done by a knowledgeable user in the Netherlands. Quite revealing. The bottom line: Buy some Janty cartridges and refill as needed. |

| NZ Supplier | I've mucked about with a couple of different options, I tried the rope trick, not overly impressed and it held only a small amount of juice and dribbled, waste of time. I chopped up a bit of sea sponge and wasn't happy with that either, the holes are to irregular in size and also dribbled. I tried the same type of sponge that is used for soldering iron holders, but again the hole size in it was to large and it dribbled. I bought ages ago a silicon sponge that is used for household cleaning, but it got chucked out. That maybe a suitable alternative, it has very fine holes of a consistant size and for its own size holds a huge volume of liquid. I've got to hunt it out as the store I bought it from no longer has them in stock. More to come on this one.

| Hi, Thanks for all the information. Gave me some ideas and did some experimenting. From the Joy of Cooking, 1 teaspoon = 5 ml. It also said 60 drops = 1 ml. So I took 3 different size droppers...a tiny baby medicine dropper. a bottle with a dropper originally for fish medicine, and a turkey baster. The baby dropper yielded 90 drops to a teaspoon, ie: 18 drops to an ml Fish bottle was 60 drops to a teaspoon, ie: 12 drops to an ml, Turkey baster was 12 drops, ie: would round up to be about 2 1/2 drops to an ml. Using the baby dropper into some different used super mini cartridges with filler, it took between 6-8 drops to fill the cartridge. That is about 1/3 ml per cart. The cart filler looks like the roll of filter material I use for my fish pond. As T-Bob noted, it can be had at a pet store. Also to note is since fish are super sensitive to many things, (for example, a regular household sponge material can kill fish), one can reasonably assume the aquarium filter material is quite pure in it's qualities. Syringes could probably also be had on veterinarnian or dog breeder supply websites because breeders & vets use them to administer medicine and to feed orphan newborn puppies. I have purchased carts from 2 different supplies. One type was enclosed in what looks like a miniture thimble. The other came with a new tip. The former was full of e-liquid, produced alot of vapor, while the others often are dried out & not full. Natch the latter were considerably cheaper. Just ordered a 30 ml bottle of e-liquid from the Ebay seller to fix the 90 cheaper carts....nuttin' like a 'good' bargain, eh? LOL Barbara |
