I was going to fully muck up the black light thread, but caught myself at the last moment. Windblown accurately noted the need for a third hand and I responded with a bit about my paraphernalia. And realized, I wanna see YOURS! So I've transferred my post here and hope to see some great gadgets following. Quote:
HAHAHA! Oh I know, it's painful. That's why I have a variety of small focused lights and magnifying lenses - trying to arrange utensils such that a third or even fourth hand will be conjured. The penlight I'll probably hold in my mouth, if it's bright enough to use that way. Or I'll rig something, as I have been with all the other accoutrement. Here are a very few items from my vast and magnificent collection... Sometimes I use this dollar Wolfcraft Spring Clamp found in a hardware bin; it just lays on the table holding the atomizer upward. There must be something better but it's not in my neighborhood: For hands-free white light in the atomizer, my favorite has been this chintzy plastic booklight with the flip-up lamp that auto-extends and swivels For lighting and magnifying together my most used item is, unbeknownst before to me, an Oprah Magazine pick at this very moment - thank goodness I got one before the rush! Something else you might want to check out: ![]() There are several models from amazon: Amazon.com: Helping Hand Magnifying Glass Soldering Third Hand Tool: Office Products Its pretty easy to make something to hold the e-cig that the clamp will accommodate. Phil |

Kit, I hope you don't have a cat. If my cat saw a table like that, he'd think it was a jungle gym and then everything would be destroyed.

I have two of the "helping hands" I use in my stained glass studio. They are great for soldering 3D objects and keeping edges horizontal (so solder won't slop on hands and cause black holes in my skin). The clips, however, are hardly gentle and designed to hold some very heavy objects in place. Some people in this forum say they don't use carts at all. How do they get around using them? I would guess the biggest concern the anti-smoking fanatics have about smokeless "cigarettes" are the fibers in the "filters". I smoked Eclipse (akin to smoking stale, dry cardboard blechh), and the evidence used against them was the fiberglass filters that could potentially create a health hazard for smokers. Sheesh, after all the crap inhaled from regular cigarettes we were supposed to be freaked out about some fibers? Eclipse tasted so nasty I reached a point where I felt like I would wretch if I had to taste another Eclipse. |

Wow, ye-olde-revived-thread! It was sad the way it died on the vine. Maybe if we can get Walrus in here something will come of it. |
