    For the record:
I tried knutselpeter's simple water cleaning method and the polident method recommended by Janet (I think) but I didn't notice any difference in the amount of vapor produced after cleaning.

Did you use the SMOKER'S Polident? That's what makes a big difference.

I discovered a post by someone who was using the Smoker's Polident after I had sent a faulty atty and 2 batteries (at least I thought the atty was faulty at the time; it could have been anyhow even with cleaning) back to Janty upon receiving the replacement parts first. They were kind enough to send the parts first then let me send the bad ones back b/c the batteries wouldn't hold a charge but at least I had about an hour on each of the two and I had the spare atty without the warranty. I didn't want to slip and go back to analogs while awaiting the delivery.

Afterward, I began cleaning my attys with the Smoker's Polident and in that time, I have yet (knock on wood really hard here) to have an atty go out on me. I managed to get my hands on 4 attys for my Dura-C (2 from Janty's kit then another 2 I bought later when catching them on sale & having the $$ to buy them). I clean them about once a week to every other week with the Smoker's Polident and they work again putting out just as much vapor as they did when new.

In addition, I also swap out my attys every day to every other day. I place them in a cup I have set aside just for the attys. It has a paper towel in the bottom and I sit the attys in an upright (as upright as I can get them anyhow) position so any e-liquid in the atty will drain onto the paper towel. This way, when I switch out to that atty again, I don't have to worry about flooding it since the liquid drains out of them. I add a small drop or two of e-liquid to the metal thingy in the atty since someone on the forum said something about not vaping with a dry atty and to put a drop or two of e-liquid on the atty so it will last longer.

If you didn't try the Smoker's Polident (15-minute clean for dentures NOT the powdery partial plate type) then you really need to try it. It has done wonders for me. The attys go in with nic/liquid and dark build-up inside and come out a pristine silver and thoroughly clean.

The only downside I've found is that minty flavor when using the attys for the first time again after cleaning. I'm not a menthol person and I am not big on mint flavors. Those little mint chocolate Girl Scout cookies, the mint-covered chocolate candies, and even mint jellies give me terrible heartburn so the mint flavor is hideous until I am able to break the newly cleaned atty in. The mint flavor is there even when rinsed well in water but it's worth it to know they are clean and ready to go again.

    Hope this helps...

Instead of vinegar - you can use pure club soda. Carbonated water has a PH about 2,6-3,2 - exactly the same as most white vinegars - that has a PH of 2,7. The carbonic acid in Coke and other soft drink may account for their ability to disolve alkaline buildups in the attys. So if you can't find white winegar try carbonated water ... Take a look at the Ph of some popular softdrinks: (That I do not recommend using to clean with!!):

    Coke 2.525
    Diet Coke 3.289
    Pepsi 2.530
    Diet Pepsi 3.031
    Cherry Coke 2.522
    RC Cola 2.387
    Mountain Dew 3.229
    Diet Mountain Dew 3.365
    Dr. Pepper 2.899
    Diet Dr. Pepper 3.169
    Squirt 2.898
    7-Up 3.202
    Diet 7-Up 3.706
    Sprite 3.298
    Mug Root Beer 4.038

I had an atty that wouldn't let go of Flavourart's bacon flavoring (an experience I would love to forget - LOL). My usual cleaning method is to fill a juice glass with warm water, take a mouthful, put the battery end of the atty in my mouth, and squirt the liquid through it and into the sink. Sounds gross, I know, but it's effective. I do this 4 or 5 times to get rid of any residual flavors. Even the strongest will go away ... except that awful bacon flavor.

So, I resorted to trying out my cheap-o Walmart "ultrasonic" jewelry cleaner. I put in just enough cheap drinking vodka in the bath to cover up the atty, and let her rip for 5 minutes. No more bacon flavor. Now, it coulda been the vodka, coulda been the jewelry cleaner. No way of telling.

Has anyone tryed rubbing alcohol or isopropyl alcahol? Iv'e got loads of that it cleans well and evaporates in no time at all
I have used Isopropyl alcohol in conjunction with my ultrasound cleaner for cleaning atomizer(s) 10 minutes a week for over 3 months now and it works great.

    My weekly routine:

Place atomizer(s) for 1 hour bath in shot glass full of PepsiŽ. Then drain soda. (My shot glass was too tall, so I used an espresso cup, also was a bit concerned about the whole glass - metal - vibration thing.)

Place atomizer(s) in an espresso cup (any small ceramic that can hold alcohol and can stand heat & vibration) 1/2 filled with Isopropyl Alcohol (50-91%).

Place espresso cup in Ultrasound half way filled with hot tap water.
*** Caution : Never run your ultrasound cleaner dry its not really good for them. ***

Turn on Ultrasound about 10 minutes.

Rinse atomizer(s) with distilled water & let dry.

(Using this procedure weekly on my 510's 403's 084's, etc. I have only lost one atomizer (Dse084) in 3 months, but it was new and probably defective. I'm a heavy to medium vaper.)

It's fun to watch the "waves" in the cup of alcohol!

    Enjoy!

Need more info post please post or PM me.
