No, Stehle, you're right. There's a really funky taste in the coffee filters.

And the pyamids aren't doing it for me. I'm just missing that "natural" flavor that I was getting with the batting (sans the burnt poly strands).

    So, I decided to get...a little too creative, I don't know. :S

I went down to Home Depot and got a nylon fiber paint brush. I figured that the brush material would "hug" the wick really well. And it's nylon, so it has a higher heat tolerance, and it's liquid friendly. Brushes are a little expensive, and I'm not sure about the re-usablilty or chemical content, but we'll get into that in a second. (EDIT: I spent $5 on a two pack of brushes (a 2" and a 3"), which is probably good for several dozen stuffings, if you utilize the material correctly).

The end of the brush was a little scraggly, so I cut off about a half inch, to get to the better fibers. I slid a cart over the bristles, and cut it off at the end. Then I slid a straw, cut to a point, down into the center of the cart. Filled to the rim, with the rich taste of Brim...flavored e-liquid, and away I went.

As expected, it wicks spectacularly, and the vapor and throat hit are awesome! The flavor is better than I was getting with the Pyramids, but not as great as the batting...

Oop, nevermind. I found my first stray fiber (which was my biggest concern). I went about an hour without a problem, but here we are. The cart is bone dry, and the fibers are a little long, so maybe that's the problem. BTW, there was no ****ty taste, just a long fiber sticking out of the atomizer. Which is too much for my satisfaction.

So, I'll post my failure, for the sake of research, and maybe I'll try to work with this a little bit more. Damnit, I thought was on to something...

Not certain why the pyramids are affecting your flavor at all considering there makeup. I've used them on 510's 401's and rn4081's with great success(vapor, flavor, and throat hit). Its weird how we seem to get different results doing much the same thing. Sorry to hear they're not working for you.

just bought some pyramids today because I've been having bad luck with tea bags and coffee filters. I can add about 8 drops of liquid into my 510 cart, and the thing keeps on vaping. very satisfying and no weird taste thus far. if anything weird comes up, then I'll post about it.

I don't understand how the filler material affects the draw. The carts for my 510 are only open towards the atomizer. The drawn air does not circulate through the filler material. It flows around the sides of the cup.

    Are the other models different?

Hey, thanks a lot Stehle! I really appreciate that! We'll find that "holy grail" of cart stuffing eventually.

Does anyone read Japanese? I would like to know if this is safe to use as a cart filler. I did pick up a box of the Lipton Pyramid tea, but since I have several packages of this and they are cheaper and empty, I thought it might work.

So my poly-fill was wearing out, and I thought I'd give the pyramid bags a shot until I can get some hemp bags (considerably harder to find in a brick and mortar), and...

WOW, these things aren't even comparable to the poly-fill! I was learning to be careful with the poly-fill when taking a draw. It had a tendency to leak liquid into the mouthpiece, and onto my tongue. Tingly...and not in a good way. These tea bags have completely eliminated that issue, and I'm getting good clouds of vapor! MUCH more taste as well!

Any of you using hemp bags, is the performance as good as with the pyramids? I don't see myself using poly-fill ever again, but I don't like the PET composition of these pyramids...but they work SO well!

Hi Circuit! Yes, I would definitely er in the side of caution. I just go do my top ups with a lighted magnifying glass and inspect each time. Nothing out of the ordinary to report though. Like a cool breeze... I'm just enjoying for now.
