Roll a strip and insert into empty cart. Then, using a pair of tweezers, pull the center of the roll back up out of the cart and trim off approx 1/4 of an inch from the protruding coils.

Push the roll all the way back down into the cart. The center should now be recessed to leave room for your atty. If it doesn't sit quite right the first time, you can pull the center coils back out and trim until it does. You can also spread the center of the roll with tweezers and loosen or tighten the roll as needed so that it doesn't stick on your atty.
I just have to say THANK YOU for this tip. The Pyramid bags have been working well for me, but using this idea has led me to cart-filling nirvana. As I've discovered, the key is to keep the bridge in contact with the wick (pyramid, in this case). Bringing up the center coil and trimming it makes a nice litte place for the bridge to rest, and ensures good contact with the wick.

For clarity's sake, I'm using two bags, "carpet-rolled" together on the length. Once inserted in the cart, I pull it back up just enough to make my cut. For my 510 carts, 2 bags rolled = 2 carts. Next, pull up the coil as shown in the pic and don't trim too much off. If you DO, try pulling the coil up to the top of the cart again, and push the atomizer in place. That should seat it nicely on the wick.

I'm still tempted to go to hemp tea bags, but these work SO well and clean so nicely...I might just forget that plan

I totally agree with Bigbob on that. Usually I go about 2-3 days, of course being in my mad scientist mode that can change in seconds.

Okay, about 11 days or more...(lost count)... same cart, same PTB, rinsed, dried & refilled. (19 drops)

No evidence of burning of the PTB, no burnt taste noticed. Smooth voluptuous vapor and flavor taste on light draw.

    Update:

Trials using PTB in Dse084 do work in various configurations, but doesn't seem to me that the PTB enhances vaping as it does in other models.

Initial conclusions lead me to believe cart may be just too small. (sigh)

A clear case of cart envy? I only have experience with the 510 carts. Are there larger capacity carts that might be modifiable to fit the 510 attys?

I got my exacto knife ready and several PTBs ready to trim.

LOL ...cart envy! (love that one!)

There may be, just none that I'm aware of.

    I'd like to know myself.

Yes, with DrSarcasmo's method, (You can check back a few posts if you'd like) or try:

    What's your favorite cartridge filler?

    It"s post #84 I think.

Perhaps a mm or so less than 1 length I believe and folded.

Yes, to both questions. Make sure the PTB material is totally dry before re stuffing/reusing if you want to refill using a max amount of liquid.

(Remember how this material wicks so well and is so absorbent to any fluid including it's original use...water.)

Remember 19 drop is my max and it varies. I did 16 drops today using a different PTB configuration in a different cart. Some people might think its the juice, but I assure you its nothing special consistency wise. Its a Hilton 36mg from Good Prophets. I like the flavor.

    Default Awesome

OK a friend just brought me over some pyramids and I rolled up one for my 901 cart and one for the 510. I did a little twist with it by doing the straw mod using a straw from a new wd40 can and both seem to work great. Longer period of time B4 topping off. No sign of melting or bad taste. I think we have a winner! Great work to everyone willing to experiment. It's defiantly worth the try.

Great scintar! We all love input from experimentation!

I also congratulate you on you willingness to experiment.

I found the straw mod unnecessary with the PTB, because it retains a round shape inside the cart, therefore creating 4 channels in the corners to act as relief valves for lack of a better term, but I can only speak for the 510 since I do not own a 901 device.
