So what about metapuff's concern over whether the bag is PET or nylon? Just wonderin', thanks.

i'm trying to find some solid info on the lipton material.

this from another forum on lipton pyramid bags:

"The translucent Pyramid tea bag is made of PET, the same food grade material clear water and juice bottles are made of. As with any plastic, it would not be considered biodegradable. PET is completely safe and is 100% recyclable within the plastics waste stream"

ok. search for pet. wikipedia

Polyethylene terephthalate (sometimes written poly(ethylene terephthalate)), commonly abbreviated PET, PETE, or the obsolete PETP or PET-P), is a thermoplastic polymer resin of the polyester family and is used in synthetic fibers family; beverage, food and other liquid containers; thermoforming applications; and engineering resins often in combination with glass fiber.

seems the burning temp of this plastic is 260 degrees celcius.

what is the temp of the atomizer heating to?

people are referring to the pyramid bags as "nylon" is that the same as pet plastic?

not sure if this has ever been discussed.. I would be surprised if it hasn't been.. but..... the simpleton side of me begs the question.. has anyone tried actual wick material? like, what one would use in an oil burning candle?

I ask this not knowing anything about candle wicks.. like, if they're soaked in some type of chemical, or something.. or what their melting point is.. but, wouldn't that, theoretically, be the best wicking material?

Awesomeness! Sometimes it feels like every new thing gets over hyped on this forum. And so I initially resisted spending yet more cash on new filler, but I got a batch of carts with really crappy fill in them so I decided to give it a shot. And this is just great. Works flawlessly. Thank you to bizzyb0t, bigbob, Stehle, Bama Vapor, and Mooby for all your efforts.

Red face I'm a BoneHead

So I read this thread, at least 12 or 13 pages of it, and finally decided to try it myself. I have an NJoy NPro that has been given me no end of leaing problems, and the taste of every eLiquid i tired seemed off somehow. Reading this thread, both of those issues seem to be well addressed by using the teabag material.

I happened to have some old Lipton trash tea bags in the pantry, so I went to dumping and cutting.

Try as I might, I could not get a good draw off of any cart I used a teabag as filler in. I went through four teabags, and almost a quarter bottle of juice, before I finally gave up.

Them, just as a last resort, I did it again, leaving the bag very loose inside the cart, and it seems to be working like a champ! My Peach-flavored liquid from LiquidXpress finally tastes like peach, and I'm getting good easy draws. Also, there has been no leakage so far. I'm interested to see how long this cart will last me (I usually top off every hour or so when I'm at home and vaping continuously).

Just a quick shout out to Bama Vapor and everyone else who made videos. Picked up some pyramid bags yesterday and learned to make my own 901 refills in no time. Those pyramid bags really work great!

I just ordered a 401 so as soon as I get it I'll take it apart and play with it a bit.

Ok, I'm giving these PTB's another chance, look out! lol

I found a really good combination of cart+atty. The key seems to be actual dimensions of the cart itself as well as the bridge of the atty. The combination that I am currently working with seems to place the bridge of the atty right at the very edge of the cart, so there are no indentations whatsoever made in a stock cart. Almost as if it is just resting right up against it, or just a fraction of a millimeter away from it. Either way, it has been wicking heaven even with a factory cart.

What I have done this time, incorporating some ingenius new PTB technolgies that our ECF members have posted, which is the "shredded" PTB method.

I took a somewhat loosely rolled PTB, and made two cuts, down each of the carpet rolls about 1/8 of an inch from where the fold is at the bottom. I then stuffed it into my penstyle cart so that it reaches the lower depth of the cart. It barely reaches the rim of the cart, so it's really a perfect fit.

I will try and get some pics posted if this seems to be working well for me, but I think in the long run, the real benefit here is the perfect combination of cart+atty, in regards to their measurements.

The ladies have it right, SIZE MATTERS

Been lurking here on the forum for a few days now and decided it was time for my first post.

I have a crappy SE RN4081 and have had nothing but problems with it from day one. I was just about to throw it in the trash.... and then I found this mod. I am actually loving my SE RN4081 now believe it or not. I never thought that I would actually say that, but I actually love this smoke now!

The pyramid Lipton mod is killer! For a while I was thinking that every juice just had that nasty burnt taste after a while, definitely not the case. I am now actually tasting what I am supposed to be tasting. The vapor just keeps on coming too and the throat hit is awesome. I am going to make a vid tomorrow morning for anyone using an RN4081. Keep an eye out for it.
