That said, like many others I use the same cartridge for days before replacing or cleaning it. Once a week or so, I flush my atomizers with alcohol to clean out any "brown goo" that is building up. I feel confident that this process keeps them free enough from germs to avoid a problem. I clean my carts by washing out the stuffing and reusing it. If the stuffing seems "tired", I replace it with new poly batting. Edit: Geez, I feel like a complete idiot. The thread I was talking about is on this very sub-fourm, here-Taking care of eliquid TT33 | |

Makdevo, your information is incorrect. Tokarev your information is on point. Our company works with one of the biggest sterilization companies in the world, not in the US, IN THE WORLD. Bacteria is ONE HUNDRED percent a potential issue with refilling and topping off. We also have done extensive sample studies from pools of individuals who used carts that are pre filled and other individuals who have carts that people are topping off. Over 3x more hardware failure in that group that tops off. Fact is that filling is bad for the industry, as people, in the masses, are simply careless. If suppliers aren't making the hardware for people to consume their juice, then you can have all the juice you could possibly want... you'll just have to take it intraveneously or something...because no suppliers, whose core values are customer service and quality, will be able to stay in business.... Also, our insurance company balked at end users filling up carts on their own...and having product liability insurance was very important to us so we could not only protect ourselves, but also our customers, and the hundreds of retailers that sell our product throughout the US. |

I use tea bags to replace the filler in my carts and I replace it at least once sometimes twice a day. When I take the old one out I wash the plastic part with hot water and antibacterial dish soap. I figure that if it's good enough to clean the things I eat or drink from it's good enough to clean the things I stick in my mouth when I vape.

Interesting....seems like a lot of work for a regular joe, but hey if it works.... but my opinion is "biased" :-), ORRRRRR I could just care more about sustaining the industry, as well as my business, by practicing the sale of the safest options possible, in a market that is currently under scrutiny :P

I did say "may", I could be wrong. Now it looks like you have two reasons to maybe be biased, one is you are a supplier and two is you don't want to be sued, which is OK I guess, but you're not exactly neutral on this. I just think people should be aware of who is offering opinions before they make up their minds. Mind you, all of this, and nearly this entire forum, is based on anecdotal information and conjecture. There are very few real (validated) scientific studies about any of this.

| ECF Veteran | There ya go vaporpro. I gave up on syringes and the oiler bottles etc. some time ago. I've been doing exactly as you describe with a paperclip, except that's the only way I fill anymore. It's just all around simpler, neater, effective, cheap...

| I moved up this same ladder from the SE gold, to a 901 to a Janty Stick with an 801 cart. If you fill with a syringe, you should be able to get just over one ml per cart. If you're topping off with a dropper bottle, you can, depending on the condition of the cart material, get at least 20 drops in a cart. Personally, I don't fill the carts any more, I just get 10 to 15 drops in, enough for 3 or 4 cigs worth of smoking, to avoid overfilling and flooding the atty.
