I bought a few rolls of organza ribbon (don't buy the bolt yard goods, not usually the same stiffness). The ribbon rolls are incredibly inexpensive, I'm vaping with it right now. Works just great, all the liquid wicks out of the cart and no weird taste and no leaking!

Michaels craft store had clearance bins with $5 rolls of Organza for only $1 (3" x 9') 100% polyester. I bought two White rolls (avoid the dyed ones). This was Bridal Elegance brand ribbon. Also look in the bridal section of craft and fabric shops. It helps if you take along your PTB for comparison on the weave and stiffness (or if you don't really know what organza is... don't buy tulle or regular ribbon!). The rolls I got are a little different in weave and stiffness, but work just as well as Lipton.

You can also find the ribbon in Nylon Organza, the material content should be on the spool. Nylon has good heat resistance, and I think someone said that the PTB from Lipton was Nylon? I was happy to have the Poly organza since we use that now in the batting form anyway.

Getting the length right for the roll takes some figuring out because too little/much just won't work right. I think I'm loose rolling about 3" or so right off the roll, then cut it. Some organza ribbons have a tiny wire along the top/bottom of the ribbon (what I buy does) and you can just remove it after you cut the length you want. I find that the wire helps me roll it by keeping the roll and tension like I want it to have I fold it in half, stuff it in my 510 cart, and trim to cart length, which cuts away the wire ends.

ok. did some research on the mighty leaf pouches. they are silk. so...that's bad. i took about 10 or so puffs. the last few had some slight taste to it that i thought strange.

took it out. replaced with regular tea bag material.

silk=bad. i think toxic.

hope i didn't damage myself. heh

I was curious about this as well and did a quick search just now. If you look at the link under the "Our Tea Pouch" section on the left hand side of the page on Mighty Leaf's site, there is a link titled "Biodegradable and Green Packaging". They use the word silken to describe the texture of the bags but it's actually not made of silk. It is made of GMO-free polylactic corn. Basically its a biodegradable, thermoplastic, aliphatic polyester made from corn. Perhaps someone with a greater knowledge of chemistry than I can let us know if there are any risks to using this one. Anyone know the specific material of the Lipton bags? I've also got some bags from Kroger's brand Private Selection, which look similar to the PTBs but I dont know if they are the same material or not. Havent tried them out yet. Perhaps i'll experiment today and report back later.
