Default update on tea bag filler.

so, experts, let me throw this out there.

as i was wasting my breath explaining the Pyramid Teabag material to my gf, she told me it looks like "tulle."

well, she's a practicing wedding planner, hence the knowledge of decorative fabrics...and well, i got to looking...

seems there is Tulle fabric that is made out of nylon.

i just started googling, but one quick search here...

http://www.fabricdirect.com/acatalog...ith-tulle.html

now, i don't know all the details yet, so no quoting...but if this IS the same type of material used in the pyramid bags...and could be used for carts...this may be the "new" answer to quantity.

Tulle melts at such a low temp that you can't even iron it.

I wouldn't use it.

Have you tried normal ol' hemp paper tea bags? Inexpensive, natural, excellent wicking, and won't melt into a blob of toxic sticky burning.

I wouldn't use the Tulle either - I think it would melt.

Hi Flitzanu this link below says no, but I still use them and haven't experienced any kind burnt taste in my 501 for over a week now.

Just my opinion mind ya, but I consider them my best bet until something organic and better comes along.

Rant: Plastic Tea Bags - Soil Forum - GardenWeb

(...and trust me, I'm no expert.)

I don't think tulle is the same thing as the pyramid teabags. There's another thread about it and someone said the material is nylon gossamer. I would link to it, but I need more posts. The thread title is Tea bag/tea filters.... which and where and who and how? under the tips and tricks section.

I'm with you on that Flitzanu!

Perhaps someday we'll run across someone from a Lipton factory and see where they get it from.
