I was keeping my juice in the frig until I read of some going rancid after 3 months storage in the frig. Lost a lot of juice! If I remember correctly, it was Sun who posted this? After reading this post, I ran to the frig and removed my juice! I now keep mine in a wine frig, set at 60+ degrees, but I am in AZ so have the summer heat issues. The manufacturers say that just a cool dry dark place is fine and life should be 2 years. Have had some for well over 3 months now in the wine frig and all is fine.

The main factor influencing e-liquid shelf life is bacterial contamination. E-liquid contains sugar and are therefore prone bacterial contamination. Warm temperature encourages bacteria to grow and therefore, spoils the e-liquid.

For long term storage, please keep your e-liquid in a dark cool place. The fridge (4 degree C) would be ideal. In addition, keeping it in an airtight container will also help. Bacteria needs both sugar and air to grow.

Good quality e-liquid should be CLEAR with no bits.

I typically fly to several different cities during the week, so looking for a good alternative.
Anyone had luck with re-using eyedrop (i.e. Visine) containers?
Just a thought, wouldn't any bottle that sealed with the built in eye dropper work. I think the bulb of the eye dropper would help compensate for the air pressure changes.

I stored juice in the freezer for 2 months so far; no problems.

    From the FWIW Files®

We are a Joyetech supplier and only carry Dekang (Changning Dekang Biotechnology Co., Ltd.) e-liquid. I'm no biochemist, but we follow their regs and keep our liquid at 40 degrees. Most of our inventory is turned in under a month, but we have (on occasion) had batches that sit in inventory for up to 120 days.

IMO - the real damage comes in shipping. Overheated warehouses, 100+ degree trucks, etc. therein lies the danger.

DIY manufacturers may hold the key to providing clean bottles of liquid, free from temperature shock, but that won't be until the FDA clears OSHA-compliant labs. Pushing to keep electronic cigarettes in the public view and away from prohibitionist bathtub gin connotation is our best defense.

Once e-cigs (and DIY liquid) goes underground, we've lost the momentum and public support.

When certain ingredients of e-liquid (including nicotine) are exposed to air, the begin to degrade and in some cases break-down. In addition, natural flavorings can spoil just as fruit will spoil when left in open air.
