Default Don't melt my 510 cart - tip

Not entirely certain if this has been brought up or not but here goes.

Lots of people are getting burnt plasticky taste with the 510. That taste is more than likely burnt plastic. Duh, right?

Anyway looking at a 510 atomizer bridge and a cart, common sense would have you line up the 2 flat sides of the cart with the 2 sides of the bridge. That way the bridge itself has less chance of contacting the flat sides of the cart. Well, here is where common sense fails because that wire mesh bridge is not in direct contact with the heating element or heated fluid. It's there to wick fluid from the cart filler down to that ring of mesh around the ceramic pot. When you orient the cart that way it brings the flat side much closer to, and probably touching, something that is in direct contact with the heating element. That fiberglass-type stranded wick. Now I don't know if that material itself is supposed to transfer heat, but the liquid on it certainly does.

I'm babbling. Just try it, orient your cart with the ceramic pot instead of the bridge. No more melted carts, no more plasticky taste (except maybe the melted cart plastic that's already on that fiber wick).

Hope it works for ya, it works for me.

Ya, Ive had a few carts melt on the side also. Like you I figured it was the alignment of the cart to atty. I also notice that if you use a cart over and over the filler starts to make contact inside the atty. Another thing that seems to give a bad taste is if you don't top the cart off.

I believe these carts are designed to be disposable, thats why they don't use better material.

Thank you! I noticed the burnt taste and thought that I just wasn't keeping my carts topped up enough. Then I noticed the melted edges on my carts. I changed the orientation like you described, and the burnt taste is gone.
