Default the spawning of inventions - fan ash tray

I like gadgets. I like taking stuff apart and building new stuff out of it. I think it's a disease I've had since birth . One thing I noticed since building the USB powered 901 is that I like to sit around and take short puffs, more frequently and drip directly. Dripping (at least for me) seems to heat up the atomizer a little more than using carts, and with the USB there's always full power to the atomizer...so it runs pretty warm while I'm using it. I took an old nick and johnny snus box and cut a hole at the bottom of it. Took an old ethernet switch apart and took one of the 1 inch cooling fans off of it and connected the fan to a ipaq handheld PC power adapter...so now I have an eCig atomizer cooling "ash tray" that runs really quiet. I set it down onto the ashtray between uses and the fan blows upwards cooling the atomizer to below room temperature within 10 seconds. Much like the USB cable mod, it's not pretty but gets the job done. I'm lazy right now but I'll post up some pics later. Just thought I'd share. This may help extend the life of my atomizers. It may not... but keeping it cool while you're using it can't possibly hurt. The atomizer I'm using now I've been using for about 2 1/2 weeks and it'll fill a room with vapor. I don't want it to die! lol

Not good enough, I need step-by-step pics so you'll have to do it all again - it sound like just what I need

    (Well done, by the way.)

Quick advise to you Bastage: next time you get the idea to do something, just document it as you do. You'll save yourself a lot of work

PS. I'm planning to do the USB mod too And for the cooling of the atomizer, I have the same problem. I'm a lazy person and that's what I came out with:

    It's works more then well

This isn't possible. You can't cool something down to below room temp when your using the same air.

Sure you can. It's a fan blowing 1/2 an inch away from a metal atomizer. Sit in a room with a fan blasting 1/2 inch away from your face at full speed then turn the fan off and tell me you dont feel a difference in temperature.

Wouldn't it be easier to just set it on top of an ice pack or something?

I guess you could... but that's not a very good idea.

You used your iPaq charger to do that!? Damn how you gonna charge it up now!?!? I thought about attaching a heatsink to my 901 and using convection to cool it down but then I thought the 901 kinda needs to actually warm up to do its job hehehe
