How I got rid of my burnt atomizer taste

You guys are getting that burnt taste because you are running your attys too dry. Wetten em up a bit.

The way to get rid of that burnt taste is to soak them in ISO (rubbing alcohol) for an hour or two, blow them out, run them under the water faucet and blow them out a couple of times. Then let them dry on the kitchen counter batt side up. Burnt taste gone.

Hell, I was using Everclear 75% and it didn't work as well as I would have liked, so I pulled all the mesh (not the metal) out with tweezers.

My 901 attyZ are still having burning taste, but I have since switched over to my 510s and LOVING THEM MORE than the 901.

I'll try this, I did pull all the fiber mesh out of my 510 attyZ that had issues and I noticed no difference in vapor.

I hate cleaning my attys because they never seem to work the same again. I do do it when it becomes absolutely necessary, and mid last week, I got one that got this gawd awful burnt taste to it. Just about made me sick puffing on it.
This is the first time I used Crest Blue Pro mouthwash and a little bit of Efferdent Plus. Put it in it and stirred and swirled off and on as I let it just soak for a few hours. Then I let it soak in water over night, and then let it sit for 12 hours to dry.
This is the first time the atty seem to come out of the cleaning process working pretty much the same as new. It did taste a little like the mouthwash for a few puffs but the important thing is---it got rid of the burnt taste.

I can't believe this. We go through this event every other week. Some noob finds the fiberglass wicking material sticking out and then pulls it out. On the 510 do not pull this wick out! Or if you do, DO NOT recommend this to anyone. If you want to do it your self, knock your self out. Just don't recommend doing it to anyone else.

Folks do some searching in this forum and you will find possibly40 to 50 threads about cleaning attys and also some posts where someone pulled the wick out. This wicking material may look burnt but believe me it isnt's. It is made of a high temp figerglass and it won't burn.

Just thought I should add, just in case someone happens upon this thread, and has a "084" atty ... and thinks it might be a good idea to mess with this fibreglass "cable" ... Listen to the above poster (words of wisdom !) ... ~ DO NOT PULL IT OUT , it will render your atty totally and completely useless. ~ Believe me , IT WILL seize to produce any vapor whatsoever !!!

I have a similar, but slightly different problem here.

On my first 510 atty, I also noticed this wick. I was curious as to what it was, but didn't actually try to pull it out. Rather, I just poked at it gently with my tweezers. Nonetheless, this did the trick, and it came loose and is now just hanging out in the bottom of my atty. I'm also getting a burnt taste from it, and I suspect that I might be scorching it. I've tried to poke it back where it was with my tweezers, but I've yet to have any success... So what should I do? It's pretty frustrating to have an almost brand-new atty that I can't use.

I have got the burnt taske on 2 510 atty's. I have been cleaning them now for 2 days..Soaked in Pepsi, steradent, blown them out with canned air, removed the strands..I have tried all that I can think off and also suggestions from here but I'll be damned if that burnt taste will go away.

Am getting so annoyed that I am quickly losing the will to carry on. That would be a shame since I enjoyed it very much.

Can some please help me get rid of this disgusting taste an smell...One of the Atty's is nearly new and one is approx. 2 months old. They both still work great but taste awful.

Also, the fibers aren't nylon, they're silicon dioxide strands. They don't burn, but they can melt. But only when far hotter than a puny atomizer can get. Remove them and you're degrading the design and intent of the atomizer. They're the wick that "pulls" e-liquid to the coil to produce the vapor you inhale.

Vaping atomizer nylon? Not only bad taste, bad for your health. It's NOT what they use.

If the forums haven't shown you a method that works to clean the burnt taste from your atomizer, buy new ones as needed.

Me, I use an ultrasonic cleaner and the DRY burn method to clean mine. DRY, after 1-2 days drying out. This burns off e-liquid residue that causes the burnt taste. I follow this with another ultrasonic clean to rid it of the burnt residue and taste.

Say what? Those bastards burn! :P Or at least turn brown and leave a bad taste when they touch the coil. I dont think the wicks are unburnable.
