Thanks Fisch,
I ended up buying some wool felt off of ebay yesterday from one of the sellers that was mentioned in this thread. It was a little more than $5.00 total so that isn't too bad. It beats going to the store like a lost puppy looking for something that I don't really know what I'm looking for (like I did on my quest for VG!). I appreciate you offering to send me some though. At least there are still nice people out there!

So how tight should I pack the cart. Too loose and it leaks, and I get a mouth full of juice. Too tight and it holds on to the juice and I get nothing but burnt atty taste. I have yet to find a happy medium.
I have tried all sorts of cart fillers and nothing is working as well as I'd like.
Thanks,
~A

angelique,
I have found after much trial and error and a couple of helpful posters, thanks btw, that it takes a lot less than I thought it would.
I bought the wool from the mmd44 ebay seller that someone posted earlier the one that says great for felting. It comes in a sort of roll but its really nice because it is all brushed straight. I am currently using the 801 attys and carts and I stretch some out kind of like a spider web very thin and then cut off about double the length of my atomizer and about 4-5 inches of stretched out spiderweb.
Essentially I end up with strands of hair equal to about double the length of my inner cart and about 4-5 inches in width. I then roll it up from both sides to cut down on frays and then fold the roll in half. Next I stuff it in a dry cart slightly packed with the folded end up and usually end up with some sticking out of the top which I then cut off to around 1/4 of an inch over the top of the cart and then fold over the ends so there is mini fold at the very top when I am done. I also use the straw mod with this.
I can usually get 17-19 drops in before it starts pooling and I typically keep it topped up during the day but it seems to work really well and when I remove the filling the bottom is mostly dry.
Just had a thought that I will try tonight to make it a little less convoluted process
. instead of folding over and making the fold at the end of the process I will try making the fold while rolling it up then chop off the bottom end to the right length. might help with the fraying which is something that is annoying for me right now.
Never have had a problem with leakage though the wool does an amazing job of holding the juice even when I overfill it.
Hopefully this made sense I might try posting a pic tonight if I get a chance.

Here's another form, it is a very thick (3/16" thick!)felt. I have used this pretty much exclusively for a long time, did suggest it one or two times, no one seemed to be interested, but you are right!
Melinda09, the very best filler of all. Just cut to fit cart + tiny bit longer. This is exactly the right consistency, holds juice and releases juice just like fiberfill, stays useful much longer. Recommend soaking overnight in plain water, then rinsing WELL before using. No additives, soaps, sizers, this is green as well. Write to seller for smaller pieces, it lasts forever. I don't know if proper to post link, but it's available from
If not proper I will delete it. I have no affiliation with seller.
Looks like what I use, you can find it at any walmart or Kmart in the sewing department. It lasts a hell of alot longer, Heck in fact you can find it at any sewing store if it's closer to ya!

I've tried them all. I find that the most economical way is to drip because I always wasted juice. Just one mans opinion.

last night I think I stumbled upon a good way to recover the juice from an old cart. I am using the 801 carts so they are rather big therefore not sure how well it would work on smaller carts like the 901 but what I did was take a good pair of tweezers and pushed down on the filler like squishing it as far down as I could then took a pipette and sucked the pooled juice out managed to get .5 ml out of 2 carts and the material was pretty dry when I pulled it out so I think I saved most of it

I was using this until a couple of days ago I stumbled across the ADM mod. It's so awesome. You guys have to check it out. You can use the wool on top as the "plug". It's crazy how it doesn't flood the atty if you do it right but it works!

I hate this 15 post crap. Would they rather me post 15 jibberish comments just to post links or post when I feel the need to reply?
