Wool fill: comments from other users & where to get it

works very well! althoe. for only about a day and a half.
i woke up this morning to take a puff, and got a horrid taste in my mouth.
pop-ed my cart off, and found that the stuffing turned an off black/purple.
im seccond guessing this as a good cart stuffer. maybe its not good to leave it soaked over night. i will be trying Orian58's idea next.
To Android: Oh, not good! With the natural wool fill that I've been using, I usually start with a clean cart and fresh wool stuffing every morning. But there are times that it sits overnight, and I've used the same cart (with the same stuffing) for 2 days in a row - okay, I've gone 3 days a few times when I was feelin' really lazy - and it's NEVER changed color. It's a personal thing that I like the fresh, clean start every day.
To all: I've kind of fallen down on the job of keeping up with this thread lately. Most of the requests that I've gotten to take me up on the wool nubs sample offer, and almost ALL of the follow-up comments that have come back from people who tried out the wool stuffing have been in the form of private messages. I'm going to compile some of those comments and will post that tomorrow, so everyone can see the feedback (all good, to one extent or another).
Where to buy clean, natural wool: I bought mine from "Holy Lamb Organics Natural Bedding Company". The link is - Organic wool pillow, natural wool pillow, organic orthopedic neck pillow, organic body pillow, woolley down pillow, bopi nursing pillow, children's pillow . Then, look at their "Pillows" section. This company is in the business of selling wool-filled pillows and mattresses and such, and were selling it at the time for $1.00 per ounce, plus the actual shipping charges. It was meant to be sold as an add-on to a pillow sale, for people who wanted to add stuffing for a firmer pillow. Since then, I've been advised by other ECF members that they've added a minimum shipping/handling charge to the price per ounce ... I think it's $4.95 (that post is back a page or two in this thread). That's still a fair price - especially since they still aren't making money on these little sales. You don't need to buy more than a couple of ounces. I bought 8 ounces, and still have enough left for a decent sized travel pillow!
About cleaning the wool before use: It seems very clean to me (and I've posted what they say about their cleaning process), but I have been using a bit of mild soap and rinsing a batch at a time before use. A couple of ladies with experience in spinning/weaving wool have posted about how dusty their clothes are after a day of working with natural wool. Mine doesn't seem dusty, but I thought that it was a good precaution to eliminate some of the lanolin, if nothing else.
Disclaimer: I'm not in the wool business, and don't personally know these people. Natural wool just seems to me (IMHO) like a more sensible thing to vape than polyester, or anything else that turns into a shiny, black rock when you put a match to it ... not to mention the stink. You do whatever seems right for you.

I bought up 8 ounces of the wool from where Melinda09 recommended buying it. I received a big bag of wool in a couple of days. The stuff looked real dirty! Lots of ?? in the wool and around the side of the clear bag. Some of the wool looked yellow.
It really does not look like anyone cleaned it at all.. so i thought ok i'll try a little bit of it. Cleaned it real quick with some soap and rinsed it pretty good. Filled a cart and took a couple of drags. I instantly felt a buzz.. i thought, great whats in this stuff and emptied the wool out of the cart and soaked the cart.
So... should i ask the seller if this stuff should be dirty like this or is this normal??

I'm not sure what to say to you about this. As I said before in this thread, that company sells wool-filled pillows, mattresses, etc., and the extra "wool nubs" that they had for sale were meant to be purchased to stuff into a pillow to make it denser. I thought that the wool that I got from them was very clean. It didn't have any visible dirt or yellow color to it. It's your call about whether you want to call or write to them or not. They do say how clean their wool is in their site; and on the other hand, they do NOT say (obviously) that their wool is cool for anyone to vape into their lungs, along with a mixture of ... whatever concoction it is that we mix up to drip onto it before it hits an atomizer, and we suck it in. I don't remember reading any actual guarantees.
Also, I'm not sure what you meant about the "buzz" that you got. Were you saying that you think that the wool that you got had something in it that gave you a buzz? I don't know how that would be possible, especially after you washed and rinsed it. Are you sure that you weren't getting a nicotine buzz?
I really don't want to be in the position of defending the wool industry, or any specific company that anyone decides to buy wool from. I'm not affiliated with any of them. This thread was just about sharing my personal experience with using natural wool for filling carts, and hoping that my experience would benefit some others.

About the buzz.. I dont think it was a nic high as it was the same as before and no effects. It was more of a strange light headedness thats not normal. And that was only 2 drags. Heavy smoker so.. no, not a nic high
Maybe it was the dish soap i used to clean it with real quick.
I dont know.. i guess i'll take another look at it and maybe try soaking it again in water over night and give it a good rinse and give it another go.
Thanks for the response..

I got some coming and wondered, is it best to use plain water to rinse. I'm not that thrilled about using any kind of soap since it'd be impossible to get it all out.

Cotton fiber not recommended.
It will rot, and if you pull tiny fiber particles into your lungs it can be dangerous.
I really don't recommend paper of any kind, for that reason also, but a lot of people do use tea bags which are not made of paper but a poly type. Natural is fine, but it must not be something bio-degradable. Wool doesn't fit that category.

I am thinking of just squirting the juice in the mouth like the other poster said. It's not so bad if it's low nicotine.

I ordered a sample of the wool and can't wait to use it. Does anyone here feel the need to clean the material inside the cartridges before using them? I don't know why anyone would feel that these wool nubs would be any cleaner or dirtier than any of the other materials people now use. Probably the safest material would be the filter from a cigarette, but then we don't know where that has been either. For a group who have been smoking cigs for decades, it seems strange that any are worried about the cleanliness of a wool nub.
