Hi all, just getting into this whole thing and I have found your forum here to be a fantastic resource for information!
I've ordered (but not received) my first e-cig and juice and am looking forward to the refreshing change I'm sure it will bring. I'll be hovering here and there asking questions when necessary, so thanks to all of you in advance!

I thought I would add a little bit onto this particular thread with a little info. I have found 100% cotton filters at a site called 1percent dot com, and a bag of 200 paperless, cotton filters was $3.50.

And there's the first question right there... What would the dangers be of a dry cotton filter vs an atomizer?

Thanks for posting this cart-mod idea - the video explained how to do it perfectly. I'm still in the experimental phase with my PV. I've been using the white Fluval, sometimes with the straw, most of the time without as I really don't experience a marked difference.

I think I'm going to give this one a try. I've had an open pack of Newport Light 100's in a ziplock baggie, tucked away in my freezer for over 3 weeks (I was able to quit when I got my 510). I'm hesitant to use one of these filters...

Is there any reason not to use a filter from an "analog" cigarette? Would I be better off buying the empty filler tubes?

    Thanks!

    Remie

There is no difference between light filter tubes and full flavor. I rolled my own cigs for a long time and just didn't see how the filter could make any difference, so I asked the source I was getting from. They are the same thing, just different color.

Just replaces the poly. You still need to keep the inner cart if your model uses one.

I would assume that the filter wouldn't burn, if it did it would be more comparable to smoking a cigarette past the filter, rather than lighting the wrong end. That is a taste, albeit not pleasant, that I'd rather have than burnt filter from a direct flame any day.

I'll be interested to see more feedback on this mod as the only filters around me right now are in a dirty ashtray outside, and I won't even empty that myself anymore.
It puts the potion in its grin or else it has to smoke again!

There's more perforations in the paper surrounding a light filter than a "full flavor" filter. Some full flavors have perforations in the paper, most don't. Thats the only difference between light, ultra light, and full flavor analogs.

i must say, i just tried it and i received no vape, no taste, it just felt like a clogged filler. I have a 306/510 so there is a small inner cart inside the main cart. I cut out the filter and put in there (same as the OP's, premier, cause i used to roll my own) and i didnt get an drip of vape. I think the fact that the atty needs to penetrate the filler is what gets the wick wet and bringing the juice upward. Since the cig filter is somewhat hard, even though 100 percent cotton, will not let the wick penetrate the cart, which means it could either bend the wick, or product no flow or vape. I tried it and then when i put in a dripped and dipped atty, i started getting vape again. weird
