Default Is extract ok for vaping?

I got some high-nicotine banana juice, split it between two bottles and filled them up with vegetable glycerine and banana extract from the grocery store.

I got a little heavy-handed with the banana, so the result tastes better than the original.

Is there any known or suspected problem with vaping extracts? I would do the same with cherry, vanilla, anything I can get my hands on.

Check the contents. From what I understand, caramel, sugars, and oils can shorten the atomizer life. The artificial banana flavor that I get from the grocery store has been working well.
    Enjoy!

You want to check that the extract is water soluable and not oil based.

I wasn't thinking of the health of the atomizer, but it's good to know.
Is there any known or suspected medical problem with vaping extracts?
Or any other common, household ingredients?

    Any Household ingredients?

I think the only hazard could be with heavy oily extracts. You wouldn't want them to crystallize in your lungs. (gas from the heavy oils re-solidifying in your cooler lungs).

Probably wouldnt wanna vape Drano, CLR, Pine O Pine, etc......

Just stick with water based liquids and you should be fine

Default vanillin may not be OK

    Elphaba,
There is evidence that inhaling vanillin (generic, imitation vanilla) is hazardous. Oddly enough, most flavors that list ingredients, and I suspect most brands, contain it. Please research it and make your own decision. Just like analogs, effects from our new hobby can take years to develop. Make your own informed decisions. I would LOVE a good, sweet vanilla vape, but I just won't risk it, and I try to avoid other flavors that have it.

    It's always something.
Do you remember where you heard/saw that?
Do you have a link or a buzz word to get me started?

I can't post links yet. Search hazards of inhaling vanillin. Several MSDS sheets available, and several natural/organic places advise avoiding it. Many products containing it recommend you avoid inhaling the steam from cooking them. Just not worth the risk to me, but that's just me.

Inhaling vanillin vaporized straight can cause upper respiratory irritation - that same as PG and VG in quantity.

I know of no risks with using vanillin as part of a mix.

If you have something specific you want to reference with a link, put a space where any periods should be, and it will post.
