DSE601 Pipe, important info. Drain your bowls
Could not resist the pun.
Anyway I found today that the bowl, or battery compartment was filled with e-liquid. This was causing a serious lack of power going to the battery.
I cleaned the bowl and let it drip dry, then put some rubbing alcohol on a cotton swap and swabbed out the inside.
I knew a little liquid was getting in there because the battery was slippery, but when I swapped batteries tonight I saw a pool of liquid. So from now on im storing the pipe at night standing on the bowl to make sure it is dry in the morning.

That surprises me as the hole leading through to the battery compartment in the bowl on my pipe is right up near the top of the battery (well above the atomiser).. Thus leading me to ask the question: do you blow on your pipe instead of inhaling?!
Or perhaps when you store it normally, just ensure the bowl is always at an angle higher than the inhaler end..

I dont know why liquid is getting in the battery compartment. It is not on the top of the battery case only the bottom. So there is a place hidden from view that is allowing flow.

it just leaks down from the atomizer.. the bottom of the wooden bowl slowly fills up.. there is no real way to stop it.. what they look like inside..

Hey Trog thanks for taking the time to vivisection the pipe. Makes it easier to understand.
I found that the juice was seeping in from the hole they drilled at the bottom of the battery container to allow the negative lead coil connection. I will be sealing up that area to prevent battery contact problems.

What are you going to seal it with?

Im going to use GOOP
It is a water proof glue. I just need to put a drop on the bottom coil where it meets the plastic housing.
I am also going to drill a small hole in the bottom of the pipe so I can drain it with out flipping it upside down and risking juice getting on the contacts for the battery.
Honestly, a drain hole should have been there to begin with.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but I wanted to know if this worked enough or not? Can the guy who said he'd glue the main hole and make a drain hole reply and let us know if this prolonged the life of his 601? Thanks!
