Well here is a way to use a Brass Truck Tire Valve as a replacement to Ripping up batteries for a little brass part. - I think I may have in-versed leaford rating scale in the update and I used the term Chuck a bunch of times instead of Valve and I think there are a few Million "um's" BUT - I think there is some good info. Total cost is like $5.00. Hope you enjoy it.

Yup, some good info, another great video, Thanks madog. Cost will be a bit more than the $5 if you don't have the right tools in your workshop. By chance, have you run across any standard fitting that is Pen sized yet? I am not anywhere near home & I don't have my parts boxes handy... ~felspar |

at work i took a penstyle to the engineer and said tell me what thread size this @##$% thing is , because nothing i had in the workshop at home would give me a clue about it he came back with the answer - 8.7 mm x 32 teeth / inch ???? wtf says i , sounds different could you lathe me up a few ?he stared at me for a minute then told me to get ...... ![]() those chinese designers love to create some odd threads i will definitely have to check out some truck tyre valves , thanks for the info |

when we were over in china on business, the builder guy turned up on the worksite with his helper, they went to the work area to start on the job for the day, the builder with his electric drill in his hand -- the helper holding the bare wires into the electric socket. we were horrified, and asked the builder to explain this dangerous practice, he replied, it is easier to use all the different plug sockets with just the bare wires, but they have to be held into the holes or they will fall out. I do not want to know how many helpers he has had !!!! One of many horror stories from our china experience. Di ..... |

The atomizers I have draw exactly the same when put on a battery and when I completely cover the thread where the battery goes. Try sucking on a 901 battery, it doesn't let through any air. That's what the air hole on the 901 atomizers is for. So I find it strange that you experienced draw wasn't as easy on your first model compared to the original battery.

Great find Maddog I experimented with this idea a bit yesterday, and discovered a couple things. Pep Boys carries something similar in a 2pk - they are brass under the chrome and run $6.99 for the 2. They are a little shorter and come with a screw, couple rubber washers, a metal washer and a flare so no need to re-thread if you don't want to. Also, one big note. If you're going to try to go for a full 1/4 inch interior, you REALLY need a drill press, if it's not perfectly center the atomizer connection crack and/or break off. ![]() Hope this helps the next tinker. |

Sure it would, creating a vacuum means taking out the air without letting new air in. In case of e-cigarettes it's usually more an "under pressure" switch but the switch works perfectly even if you would completely seal the tip.

| Ok - let me explain - In the bottom of the atomizer is a hole on the side and a hole in the bottom - The hole in the side provides air flow "thru" the atomizer. The hole in the bottom provides suction for the pressure switch. (this air is also going thru the atomizer.) The suction switch is a silicone membrane attached to a small piece of metal that creates a switch in the battery turning on the power to the atomizer. The suction chamber is sealed and once the negative air pressure is reach the continued suction airflow is pulled through the air hole in the side of the atomizer. If the battery connection hole has no sealed chamber below it it is allowed to ALSO draw air thru it's hole creating additional air flow into the atomizer chamber. With the increased voltage applied to the atomizer to create more vapor I have found that the increased airflow. Increases vapor production and keeps the atomizer cooler. I hope this makes sense. I am currently working on getting together a data table to show the relationships between the different mods. Current Draw, Voltage, Atomizer Temp. - and there relationship to the use of different components in the circuits. For instance I am bewildered by this question - Does the atomizer pull the same current when a usb mod has a LED/res (current feed device) vs. when it doesn't?, Does the airflow really change? and a few others that have me curious. Once I get all the data I will post it to the forum - Hopefully today or tomorrow. All I have for a vacuum pump currently is a water driven one I was thinking of just using a ball pump for a vacuum - Unfortunately I have no way to measure vapor density.
