I had a 901 battery that heated my atomizer up to the point it was glowing red? I thought it was a switch problem...

That is one of the most helpful videos I have ever seen. My one and ony connector involved using a pipe cutter. Dismantling your way I probably wont have to use shrink wrap. Excellent.

Just looking at this, a 901 battery and atomizer could be built to last almost forever with the right materials and a manual switch. I was looking at troggs screwdriver which is very creative but atomizers are still built so cheap. So much care has been put into simulating the smoking experience that we end up with this garbage. They will never improve this. This type of construction forces you into a situation with consumable parts and consumable parts make money. Think ink cartridges and laptop batteries. I work in a fairly geeky environment. Once some of my parts die I'm going to get a few heads at work to see how we might be able to improve this. Everything is so tiny though that it makes engineering very intimidating. That chip is so unnecessary it almost makes me angry. I bet that chip could be hooked up to a micro controller and given some new instructions lol. The guys at work are wizards though. One of the guys recently soldered pins onto a mainboard for an extra usb connector without magnification under sunlight lol. What if we start opensource project? |

They do the job though, and they're cheap as chips. I'm more interested in the cartridge. I've only had partial success so far - it's hit and miss, but always better than the stock cartridges. When it works, it's perfect. I'm not sure what I'm missing, so have started reading a fluid dynamics text until it stops bugging me. |

It's funny how much you learn with these things. I'm learning as much as I can about chemistry and food additives right now lol. I just don't know where I can get food additives over the counter in Canada. |

If it weren't for this video i probably wouldn't be attempting the battery pack mod i'm doing right now. I found a radio shack (like THE SOURCE in europe) that actually has the small electronics you'd need to mod a battery of this type. I used madogs atomizer technique to remove the guts of the battery (MUCH harder than madog makes it look, he has strong-ass hands dude) and i'm going to do the soldering later. I got some rechargable aa's and a 4xaa battery holder w/on-off switch. A desoldering bulb, some wire, and heat shrink. The only problem i might have is i gotta drill a small hole in the e-cig battery casing for the wires to stick through, but i think this thing is gonna rock. I'll still be using the original pressure switch. I'll probably do a manual one a little later. |

I will repeat myself but I must say it again. You are the electrician master (EM) MADOG. I will call by that name (M=master or magician)
