Default Thought I had a bad battery...

Got a shipment of 901 batteries from Heaven-Gifts and one of them wasn't working after a full charge. Long story short after several e-mails with them they suggested "wiggling" the threaded end of the battery out a hair. I did this by screwing it into an atty and gently pulling them apart while wiggling. Started working like a champ immediately!

Turns out the threaded end of the battery had been pushed in just enough during shipping to prevent a good connection. Something else to try with those "dead" batteries you have lying around before you toss them in the trash.

Dude, you just saved me from having to ship one of my "bad" 901 batts back to vendor. The wiggle thing didn't work, but I got a knife blade and kinda gently pried the center conductor out working my way all the way around, and bingo! I noticed that the center conductor was slightly recessed before. Now that batt works better than my "good" battery. Thanks for sharing that.

yo, BE carful not to turn the threaded part relative to the battery case. wires will break if you turn more than a bit...say on a clock, stay with in what would be two minutes max.

and the connection is in the center of the battery, hrmm....

I didn't turn it at all. I simply screwed in the atty and pulled apart (gently) while doing a little back and forth wiggle.

I hear what you're saying about the battery connection being in the center. This might have to do more with the "auto" part of the battery. Normally you can activate them by sucking on the end of the battery connection, but this one felt "blocked" until I pulled it out a little. The battery was fully charged - it just wouldn't activate.
