Default What about the Classic Pen Style?

Any ideas about converting a Classic Pen Style battery to USB? I've got a couple that aren't working with my new atomizers, so I figure I should do something with them. Kinda geeky, so there are a few USB cables handy... and the necessary tools... just need some direction...

Thanks!

Hey thanks for the idea. I just used my broken pass thru bat, 2 thumb tacks, black tape , and a soldering iron. I now have a usb pipe(601). works great.
Oh didnt have any wooden dowel laying around so I used a clothes pin cut to size and duct taped the two sides together.

Well I finally got off my butt and built a quicky version 1.0. I need to go back and do it right but just throwing it together it works great. Thanks again for the great mod.

Best mod ever! Took me 10 mins. works great! i also took a coby ca-709 universal car charger and did the same mod. it works great on the 4.5 volt setting, but on 6 volts it rules! the car charger is only 6 bucks.

thanks for the Idea Invidregis The Great!

SmOoV_1, I agree with you about the video but this is really sooooo ez I dont think we need a video. It took me a while to get around to it but once I did it, it was really easy.

jimmieu, thats a great idea about using a car charger, I was going to look for an old cell phone car adapter but I think you know how that goes, when you dont need one there all over the place but when you look for one you cant find one... I think I'm loosing it.

Thanks again everyone! Fortunately with a 6 month old and the hockey playoffs I can hardly breath let alone make a video.

Well those of you that have tried this mod may have had a few problems. Even though invidregis has advised everyone to put some super glue on the cap at the USB cable, the wires inside may brake.

To solve this I have gone to heavier wires inside the e-cigar and splice the new wires to the USB cable. At the splice be sure to re-enforce the wires and do so, at least an inch before and after the splice.

I used small gage speaker wire (stranded). The other change I made was to replace the tack with a washer and screw. This better secures the heavier wire.

I hope this helps.

Just built my own version using a piece of tube from a compression connection for a sink. First tried using the charger from my Razr phone didn't work so well. Figured the 850 ma would be enough no dice. found and old usb cam and used the wire from that HUGE difference. Love it !
