Hey guys, its been forever, but figured i'd throw in some love for the SE Gold you are talking about. Personally, I have had 0 problems with mine. Granted sometiems i have to "kick start" it, by covering a hole for the first drag, but overall i get amazing vapor from it. In fact, the favor production is equal to the 510 on every level. I have had my SE gold for what, 6 months now? and the same atty is still kicking. Granted in the past 3 months i use it far less, maybe 2 days a week, but it is doing amazing. It is VERY overpriced, but it does work quite well.

Hello! Thanks to all who got me up to speed on vaping! Smoke free 10 days now. As for manipulating the holes, works good to get a denser hit, especially if you draw fast (like you used to off an analog). Take some fine wet/dry sandpaper of at least 600 grit. Place it abrasive side up on a table. Take a battery off a 510 and put it so the atomizer side of the battery is down on the sandpaper. Make some small circles or figure 8's untill you shave a little of the material off. Keep testing untill it hit like you want. You can take too much and it will be like sucking a milkshake through a coffee stir! The end result will be holes that are perhaps 20% smaller. Maybe try it with a battery starting to not hold it's charge anymore so if you don't like it the battery is at the end of it's life anyways.

From what I get from all of the negative reviews of these commercial brands of e-cigs is that they tend to give vaping a bad name in America. Not really such a good thing for the market considering the pending legal status of the ecig.

When you turn the atty to align the holes, you are actually loosening the atty which causes additional air to flow due to breaking the seal at the ring. Aligning the holes has nothing to do with it.

SE is basically a scam, I agree. The SE Gold model is simply an RN4081 with SE's name branded on it. The 4081 is a pretty good unit, and people are happy with them. Parts are cheap too. I'm blowing vapor from my 4081 at the bottom of my posts.

I am covering them up with tape to cut them off. This increases vapor exponentially.

OK, That tells me you have the batts with the vacuum actuated switches. When you cover the holes, it will increase the vacuum pull to activate the switch faster. The switch is mist likely stiff, and the increased vacuum helps it. I had a couple of batts like that. Over time, they loosened up, and covering the holes was no longer necessary.
