Markarich,

That is still the best explanation I have seen of the glycerin grades. The people who are still demanding vegetable glycerine are basically the same people who see organic on the front label of a food item, and believe it without looking for the USDA certification on the back...

Nice markarich :] Yeah this is a pretty common question in ALOT of forums I visit. I agree they should make this a sticky.

Btw, I guessed humco was vegatable glycerin because we never experienced any nausea or dizziness as i've heard of with other glycerine. I've heard bad things from people about the cvs brand but i could be wrong :/

markarich159 - thank you for this! I wish I had read it earlier - it's too late to go back to the store today. I found this product, but the pharmacist at my local rite-aid couldn't tell me anything about it.

Markarich159, Thank you SOOOO much for that clarification! I've been looking all over to know the answer to that. I've traveled sort of far to get 2 oz bottles at Hobby Lobby, and yet I've got a Walmart 2 minutes from my house.

So....thanks again, you've saved me time and money, not to mention answered my question as to whether this skin-care Glycerin is okay....the same as Vegetable Glycerine, and eased my mind over buying it.

FYI, I have been using the same glycerin from CVS for about a month now, with no problems. I too was worried about it at first, but was told by a couple of others here that it is just fine. Just make sure to thin it with distilled water before adding it to your juice, or it will be WAY too thick. I personally used a 1:6 ratio of water to glycerin, and have had no problems at all...

$5 for a bottle that size is great, and especially since it's readily available and accessible.

First, mix a bit of distilled water into your glycerin (I personally use a 1:6 water to glycerin ratio). Next, you would need to mix the glycerin/water mix into your liquid.

the ratio breaks down like this: 36mg base:glycerin water mix e.g.

1:1 mix = 18mg
