Manual battery better than automatic? Really?
I ordered an automatic battery on accident for my JOYE 510. I love it way more than my manuals. Hands free vaping! I still haven't had the cut-off than everyone talks about.
I am surprised I like it so much seeing as how so many people on here are negative about them.

The biggest problem with auto batts is the switch, especially on the 510 which is prone to leak. Most of the auto batts stick in the on position after a few weeks. To combat this try storing them overnight upside down (atty connection down). This will help drain any fluid that may have leaked into the switch hole. One other thing to keep in mind is when the 510 was originally released the hole in the battery was much larger and allowed A LOT more liquid to leak into the battery.

I had 1 automatic battery and 4 manuals when I started and then I got 2 more manuals later and I just used the manuals more than the automatic and just got used to it so now even when I use the automatic I'll go to press the button and it won't be there haha and it has a cutoff after 4-5 seconds which I don't like whereas my manuals even with a cutoff can be bypassed simply by letting go of the button for half a second and pressing it again.

I think that I prefer the manual battery. After a few month of use, my autos' switches are starting to go. One is super-sensitive and triggers with a slight breeze, or just being set down. The other is under-sensitive and won't trigger with a regular drag.
The hands-free option is nice, but not to stick with auto batts.

Manuals are way better. The dealbreaker for me is the auto sensitivity to sound and vibrations. Makes them totally impractical imo. (I used M401 autos, not 510.)
Plus they seem to work better.

halloween night i took my 801 auto batts, 5 pre-filled carts, 1 801 atty... even with the hundreds of thousands of watts at that "massive" "rave" the batteries weren't firing on their own... which i had read about before the party and watched them to see if it were happening.... never cought them going off by itself.
mind you i own a protege. and love it. auto bats are good for... oh wait if they might get taken by security gaurds and tossed. lol.

Alot of us 510 users are drippers and the 510 manual battery will not be affected by any ejuice getting into the battery. Though after you have mastered the art of dripping then you are rarely going to screw up your auto battery.

Ya, I took one of my auto 510 batts to the Skinny Puppy show on Saturday, and I didn't have much trouble with it going off unintentionally, even when I was dancing. The only time I noticed was when the crowd was cheering like mad at one point.
The only real trouble I've had with my auto has been at school on a windy day. It just was not working out for me at all.
I don't mind the autos, but I pretty much stick with the manual batteries because I have a tendency to overfill my carts. Dead batteries =

I prefer the auto batteries. I think I just have not forced myself to use the manuals enough. I just can't seem to get comfortable pushing the button. I like hands free vaping. So, it's not so much a performance issue, it's more that age old adage ... you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
